ben818736
So I'm walking around Windhelm and a guard says "The Eye of Talos was a fine ship, once. Now it lies wrecked, off an island just north of here" but it just gives me the location Wreck of The Pride of Tel Vos (I think) Can anyone shed some light on this? I didn't mis-hear. I took a screenshot and it clearly says "Eye of Talos"
Kaylock
I'm sure the Pride of Tel Vos is a quest related ship, but perhaps the subtitle group read or hear the script wrong?Or perhaps it is a remnant of an earlier quest that was changed at a later date
Lachdonin
Or perhaps it is a remnant of an earlier quest that was changed at a later date I think this is more the case. As with Mankar Cameron's speech about the Daedra in Oblivion, i think its just a problem with their recording and implementation. For instance, the speech Cameron gives was a rough draft, before edits, because the real script was late and they only have X amount of time to record dialogue. Similarly, i beleive here that they recorded the dialogue for a specific quest, which was removed or changed later, and no one bothered to go back and delete the earlier referance. They couldn't re-record it, because calling in voice actors again costs money, and they couldn't remove it otherwise no one would give you the location. sergiobor
The Pride of Tel Vos is a shipwreck related with a quest " Distant Memories " Brand-Shei can usually be found at his stall at the Riften market or in a cell in the Riften Jail if you've helped Brynjolf frame him for theft. If you ask him about his strange name it will open up a dialogue path to this quest, allowing you to offer him help in finding information about his birth and past. Eventually you may hear of The Pride of Tel Vos being a Dunmer ship that wrecked while fleeing from Morrowind during the Argonian attacks. The wreckage is located due east of Winterhold and is visible on clear days from the Winterhold College. Several bandits will have a camp here including a Bandit Chief in the captain's quarters. Lymdrenn Tenvanni's Journal is in a waterlogged chest on the northern half of the ship near the waterline. When you return to Brand-Shei he will give you his key to his strongbox in the Riften market that contains some gems, potions, and a random novice level destruction spell tome.
