Patton171 Posted January 24, 2012 Share Posted January 24, 2012 (edited) I've added some weapons from a weaponpack (the author gives permission as long as u credit him) to my house but my question is.. when uploading it what should I exactly upload. Do I only need the meshes and textures of the weapons I've used or do I need all the meshes and textures (and .esps) of the other mod (even though I don't use 99% of the weapons)? caramellcube Posted January 25, 2012 Share Posted January 25, 2012 how did you add the weapons to your mod?if you just moved the meshes into the GECK then I think you should be fine just adding them to your zip file,if the weapon pack is listed as a master file to your mod though, I'm not sure. Jeoshua Posted January 25, 2012 Share Posted January 25, 2012 If permissions have already been obtained (VERY IMPORTANT, btw), then you'll need a few files. Open up the mod in GECK or Fo3edit and look at the weapon. Find all mesh files which the object points to. They will be located in Data\Meshes\* Now use NifSkope to open those .nif files. Find the textures, they're buried in there somewhere. They will be located in Data\Textures\* Icons are located in Data\Textures\Interface\* Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Patton171 Posted January 25, 2012 Author Share Posted January 25, 2012 (edited) Yeah I'm using the 20th century weapons, the author commented that you can use the files as long as you credit the creators of the weapons (apparantly there are several) Don't worry, before releasing it I'll make sure I don't release any weapon without crediting the author and having his permission. The whole steps u mentioned with geck and nifskope are not nessasary as the creator of the file made it easy for me.. the weapons are all in seperate folders in both meshes and textures. So all I have to do is add those maps along with my mod? The mod is plugin files btw caramel.. not a masterfile Oh anyone know where to find this mod on the nexus site? I've gotten the permissions note from an external website because I can't seem to find the mod on the nexus anymore. Jeoshua Posted January 25, 2012 Share Posted January 25, 2012 Meshes, Textures for those meshes, Icons... those are the three types of files you'll need. Other than the actual Weapon objects in the plugin file, that should be all you need. Obviously they should link up correctly, and you might want to rename and re-link everything so that it doesn't conflict with other mods (or maybe use the exact same paths, to allow for retexture mods to work on it).
