KANTO77
My New Vegas is missing Hunting Revolver textures/meshes (Don't really know the difference, I'm a noob). I have tried this far disabling, reinstalling and uninstalling weapons retexture project, Hunting revolver retexture and EVE with no success. Disabling the giant red missing meshes/textures error sign would be fine too or removing the whole gun from the game. I would like to copy my load order here, but I don't know how to do it from NMM so would also appreciate help there. Like I already said I'm a massive noob, so this may be a stupid question. But for mods that could cause this I have EVE, Weapon retexture project and Hunting revolver retex by Millenia. dubiousintent
Your problem is "ArchiveInvalidation". With NMM you need to "toggle" it off-and-on again after you add or remove textures. See the "ArchiveInvalidation (by Manager)" entry in the "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide for how to do this in NMM. Suggest you read the "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article for other things you need to know, including how to sort your "load order" (and what that is), and how to post it here. -Dubious-

The wiki page is really overwhelming but something still remains unclear to me. Do you need to run the game between validating and loading the mod? Can you give me step by step instructions? This far I've tried:1. Turned archive validation off.2. Downloaded the mod via NMM.3. Turned archive validation back on.4. No results. 1. Reloaded the mod.2. Turned archive validation off.3. Ran the game, no results.4. Turned the archive validation back on, ran the game.5. No results. 1. Reloaded the mod.2. Turned archive validation off.3. Turned archive validation back on.4. Loaded the game, no results. I started playing the game with weapon retexture project on and I've had no problems until now. And the I downloaded the separate retexture by Millenia in an attempt to fix this. So could it be mod confliction? Weirdly I have also started to experience issues with FCO character overhaul with veronicas face turning Vanilla but other faces stay high-res. dubiousintent
By now you should be realizing that playing a modded game is much more complicated than simply installing a bunch of mods and diving in. It takes time to understand, and it's important that you DO understand. The "General Advice" article is just an overview of the bare minimum you need to know. Take your time with it. (I allocate at least a week to reading up when I start to mod a "new to me" game. It pays off in the long run. I had zero major issues when I did start playing.) I hope you noticed the distinction between "downloaded", "installed", and "activated" in the "Terminology" section of the "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article. Sounds like you need to review one or more of the tutorials on NMM in the "Mod Managers" section as well. They do a much better "step-by-step" than I can do her; especially as I don't use NMM myself. When you "validate local files" with Steam, it is trying to restore your game to "vanilla" state. Which means you have to assume it has wiped out all your mod installation "customizations". So, "yes" you should run up to the Main Menu again to ensure all the "hardware" options are recognized after "validating". [Edit: If you are using a 4GB launcher or patch, then this means you need to do that with the vanilla launcher first.] In particular, you should see "Checklist item #3" in the "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide. See the "Rule of One" entry in the "General Advice" article. You need a "merged/bash patch" file to deal with record level conflicts due to all your weapon mods. -Dubious- Edited February 25, 2017 by dubiousintent
