Himynameischris
So, I finally finished downloading Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition via Origin Downloader. I wondering where do I put the character preset mods? I'm not sure if I'm supposed to create a new override file in the documents section or actually go to programs (x86) folder where the game was downloaded to. I used to have the physical copy of the game and had no problem adding mods as there was only one folder to add them to. Now that there's two, and I've tried both of them, my preset mod isn't showing up on the character creation menu.
Thandal
There were always two "\override" folders. (I had the retail disc copy of DAO, and then migrated to the retail disc of the UE.) But the one you want is the one under your user profile.
Himynameischris
So the folder would be in: C:\Users\Chris\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\override ? Sorry for sounding like a noob. This is the first time I've actually downloaded a game instead of having the disk version. By the way, the other mods I have added worked perfectly with the Dragon Age Modder. I guess that it's because the one I'm trying to add now is a .mop file.
Thandal
Yes, that's the one (almost all) mods mean when they say "put in your override folder". And both DAM and DAMM work fine with either the disc or the EA Origin store versions.
Himynameischris
Oops! Sorry about that! I had figured it out right after I finished the post. I had created another override folder instead of putting it in core first! It's been a while since I've added mods to Dragon Age. Thanks for you help!
Sheibear
I've never run mods on a computer game like this before. I bought DA:Origins Ultimate Edition through Steam, but I downloaded a bunch of mods I want to try out. How do I make them run from the game files? I tried putting them in an Override folder but I must have had the location wrong or something. Any tips?
Thandal
@Sheibear; See this article: Using Dragon Age Mods for Dummies. After you read that, feel free to come back to the DA forums and ask questions about anything.
