Do you always do what others tell you?

You do what you want.

Personally I play a boozy Nord but I have played others. You won't be playing one game - oh no no. Try a few different characters and see which suits you best!

And introduce yourself in the Newby thread for lots of really helpful (erm best be truthful) for a warm welcome!

If you search around the forums you'll find plenty of advice of who to be what to wear, when to get married and which day of the week to wash your socks. Just get started on the game, dine off your first cliff racer and you'll wonder why you ever asked this question!

Good hunting.

in ur opinion, do they suck

That is your second and last warning before I get out the spear of Spamdoom! Read the rules mate. And in answer to your question - play whomsoever you like, by the time you are at level twenty it makes no significant difference at all!

I played Wood Elf once, but I didn't go far cause meanwhile I started a new character. (I'm always starting new chars)

But a wood elf has his good points. It's always your decision, but here it goes:

- if you wanna fight, play as a nord, redguard or an orc.

- if you wanna cast some spells, play as a breton or an altmer.

- Dunmer is good for magician and fighters, but not to the extreme the previous ones are.

- if you wanna speed and run the Paris-Dakar, then you have Khajiit and the Argonian (too bad you cant wear shoes).

- if you wanna be a thief, then wood elf must be your favorite.

Enjoy.

With Rhedd's beautiful female Bosmer heads, they are an enjoyable race to play a stealth character as. Despite being about half the size of a Nord, they can still do quite well with the right equipment. Not reccomended for combat.
