pawzseven
In conversation with President Eden, he seemed to suggest to me that he would be willing to destroy the Enclave if I agreed to his request. I did not pursue that option, preferring a more abrupt conclusion, but then I wondered how things would have gone if I had agreed to that course of action. To that end I reloaded the game several times to get another chat with him, but he never offered that scenario again. What would have happened I wonder, if Eden had started to destroy the Enclave ( and how exactly would he have done it)? The Enclave need to be around for Broken Steel.Anyone know please? Could not find any info on that option on the FO3 fan webpages. Ta :)
CarlCorey
This from the Wikia page on The American Dream (look for the topic "Meeting the President"). With a high Speech skill, you can convince Eden that he is insane, and force him to self-destruct both himself and the base. This check is fairly difficult: even at 100 Speech and 10 Charisma, it's still not guaranteed to succeed, with a 90% chance of success. With a Science skill of 60 or higher, you can argue Eden into realizing his thinking is in fact a fallacy of circular logic, and again convince him to self-destruct himself and the base.If you found Colonel Autumn's room and the ZAX destruct sequence, you can deal with Eden that way (again, blows up Eden and base). You can leave him intact and exit the base. If you choose this option, Level 1 will still function as with the other options; rooms off the main hallway spout fire and the doors become inoperable, and the lower levels will remain sealed. The base will not explode however, and the fleeing Vertibirds will remain intact.
pawzseven
yes, done the circular logic, done the ZAX, done the leaving him alone. No mention of destroying the enclave issued from those decisions. The circular logic only came round once as well. Oh well, I don't think I will try again - been back into RR after I left, thanks to a mod and also the console collisions off option, quite interesting to explore and grab a few other goodies, but time to move on even if my curiosity never gets met.Thank you for your kind response.
