Masternaut
I just wanted to say how great this game is and how nice it runs to. I have Battlefield 3 and what a joke that is, constant crashes and connection issues and a company that does not seem to care about their game and the community. Bethesda is a great company and they actually fix their games and care about what we have to say. Yes it does have it's issues here and there but no where near as bad as some other games. I should also mention the awesome modding community, great job and keep it up guys. So great job Bethesda for making a great game that is very enjoyable and relaxing to play. Sarimae
I just wanted to say how great this game is and how nice it runs to. I have Battlefield 3 and what a joke that is, constant crashes and connection issues Can't agree, sorry. Running BF3 smoothly, the only thing i agree are issues with the "browser-s***" connection failures. and a company that does not seem to care about their game and the community. Sure they care...for the best of you ;) But seriously , you are right. EA/DICE gave a f**k since the start. Their patches are a joke, the "Destruction" is, well, even more a joke. Bethesda is a great company and they actually fix their games and care about what we have to say. Yes it does have it's issues here and there but no where near as bad as some other games. I remember morrowind was extremely more buggy, Oblivion was extremely more buggy... at least Skyrim is not that buggy :) so, yeah, they made it right, this time. I should also mention the awesome modding community, great job and keep it up guys. So great job Bethesda for making a great game that is very enjoyable and relaxing to play. *Thumbs up* to both of these :)

Horse armor, backwards dragons. The modding community is great but calling Bethesda a company that cares about fixing their games and cares about what the community has to say is a bit of a stretch. Lachdonin
Bethesda is a great company and they actually fix their games and care about what we have to say. Horse armor, backwards dragons. The modding community is great but calling Bethesda a company that cares about fixing their games and cares about what the community has to say is a bit of a stretch. Your being overly cynical. The Dragon issue is fixed, and Horse Armour is a superficial asthetic inclusion which does, in no way, impact the game. In fact, i don't know a single person, personally (And by that i mean in real life) who has ever use the damned stuff. Bethesda has been addressing concerns and major glitches from the get-go. Sometimes they've made things worse, but by and large they've managed to fix glitches and problems people have been experiencing. The are, very clearly, listening. Their actual execution tends to be hit and miss, but they are paying attention to the issues people are bringing to their attention.
marharth
Speaking of them listening to the community, the CK still isn't out when they said early January. Pretty sure no one wants steam workshop either.
Lachdonin
They NEVER said early January. They said 'Starting in January'. This has been covered many, many times, and quoted enough to make a university paper seem bloated, but people still seem to be missreading their statements as 'Starting of January'. ***Edit***Or maybe its 'beginning'. Either way, the important word is in as opposed to of Edited January 25, 2012 by Lachdonin
GMatthews
Oh -Marharth is obviously just one of those people that has to complain if he is awake or breathing. But I agree, it can be obnoxious. Dude, stop concentrating on just the negative. This game has taken a lot of improvements from previous games and implemented them so I'd say Bethesda is listening. Now now, lets keep things civil. By and large Marharth is a level headed fellow. a lot of people have gotten caught up in the whole 'Beginning of January' missreading, no need to vilify people. marharth
Still, I don't see it even coming out this month. It is getting close to the end of the month. My big issue right now is that they are going to be putting in steam workshop no matter what, which seems like a terrible idea for the modding community. If Beth was listening they would have improved questing and AI and not of taken everything out that made the elder scrolls good. Its supposed to be about immersion, exploration, and questing. Most people could probably play the entire game in black and white and not notice much difference. The entire color scale is gray. Another thing I hate a lot are the dwemer ruins in Skyrim. They are not as good as Morrowind, and even the Ayelid ruins in Oblivion were superior. People will argue stats don't matter. Try to seriously be a vampire and still say that. You don't get any strength increases or anything. Why? Because you can't. I understand why people can consider Skyrim to be a good game considering all of the terrible games that come out now days, but I think it is a bit of a stretch to say that Beth cares about the community a lot and they try to make bug free games. I will admit that Skyrim is improved on in the sense of performance, but honestly I don't know why it took them so long to make a game that won't crash every 20 minutes. The story for Skyrim was a bit silly really. I have thought about it and tried to justify it, but the game wants you desperately to be a Nord. There is dialog that assumes you are a Nord. You still get executed even if you are a f***ing high elf. They didn't even bother to check, seriously? I was hoping for more then a action game really. Beth didn't improve any AI or RPG aspects. The combat is better sure, but its not supposed to be a hack and slash. TL;DRSkyrim is pretty good compared to the insane overflows of stupid MMS's and other crap coming in. Comparing it to Oblivion nothing got upgraded but performance and graphics, some stuff got downgraded imo.
Tidus44
The CK was announced for a January release - but no one said which January - maybe 2013?? I'm just as anxious as the next person waiting for the CK, but I've taken the attitude it will be released when its released so why keep worrying or complaining about it. I suppose the "excellence" of the game is subjective. I didn't buy Skyrim because Bethseda makes excellent games or cares about gamers or whatever it is. I bought it because no matter how bad it is, it's still a good platform to start to make it into an excellent game. Skyrim is not all that different than Oblivion (what a mess that was when it first came out) and Skyrim will become much, much better as time goes by. No game is as good as everyone wants it to be - everyone has something they do not like - but at least Bethseda offers the tools so you can make it as good as you want it to be. That makes it an excellent game for me. As for the Steam workshop - time will tell but everything I've seen so far on this suggests modders will not be forced to use Steam for their mods, it will be an option. While its nice that people mod and share, there are still those who mod for their own needs, wants and use and do not share (I for one mod and can use what I mod, but could never upload and share as that would violate TOS at the Nexus and Steam). Its not likely modders will be "forced" to share their modding efforts. Still hoping for a release of the CK soon, but not holding my breath waiting.
