CTD on Save while in Solitude After Battle for Whiterun

Ever since completing the battle for Whiterun for the Imperials I have been having trouble with CTDs that only occur whilst saving. Initially I thought this problem was isolated to Solitude, but have since discovered that once Solitude is visited I get a CTD no matter where I save. I have disabled a few mods that I thought might be causing the problem, but no luck there. I have reloaded various old saves pre-glitch, cleaned just about EVERYTHING, launched the game with everything I can think of, edited and re edited the skyrim.ini file (currently using unedited file as the edits did nothing and I have no idea if they might make future attempts to fix harder), rearranged my load order over and over, and cleared orphan scripts from my save files, deleting older files in the hopes that it would help. None of it has. Does anyone else have any advice or a similar problem?

Nothing in your load order is super bad. I still would change some things:

1. I would suggest using the Unofficial Skyrim Legendary edition patch and place it right after dragonborn.esm.
2. Also, take note that whenever you move/alter/delete a mod on an active save, it can cause random ctds as it tries to access those missing scripts. It's best to start a new game when changing mods around. Cleaning scripts does not work 100%.
3. Make sure your clean reinstall is actually a clean one: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/906390-cleaning-skyrim-for-fresh-install/
4. CCO Remade actually has two required mods that you should get. Read the directions and put them in the correct install order.
5. What may fix your problem is using the Crash Fixes mod. Make sure you carefully read the page and do what he says.

Also, I'd suggest you get and use Alternate Start - Live another life. It helps further stabilize your game by loading all your mod scripts upon starting your new game, and it's great for testing. LOOT should have it sorted last in your load order.

I'll look into all that. Sadly USLEEP also gives me CTD for some reason, but i can go problem by problem to hopefully get a stable game. guess i should go after that one first then

USLEEP should not be giving you CTD. It is likely something else. I would definitely suggest the clean install and make sure you are cleaning your master files correctly. Youtube should have some updated videos on how to do that.

no i have not managed to solve this yet, but i will cross reference our load orders and see what i can find in common. this could be really helpful!

we don't have all that many mods in common, so this might be easier, though I can't see how any of the ones we have in common would cause such a glitch I'll list them here.

I'll do a bit of digging, see how things work without these mods. Hopefully it's the breakthrough I needed.

sadly, even with all similar mods deactivated the game still crashes, so it isn't any of those.

Okay I couldn't fix the problem but I think I found a solution to get past it. You need to use the command

player.moveto 000198AB (general Tullius)

 

It will teleport you to him without saving, you just need to speak to him to go further in the quest, then for some reason the CTD problem should stop. I guess it's linked to the post battle situation in Whiterun...
