DeadThePoet
Firstly in response to your topic Dan, yes, it is absolutely fascinating and one of the fields of science I have had a lifelong call and passion for. With all scientific theories they are from time to time exposed to new information they may reset their parameters, if not their foundations. Case in point with the recent discovery of the faster then light experiment. For me quantum physics is the building block science, and it constantly reminds me that the information we receive through our five senses, though important to us, is not actual reality, although I am not precluding that we can experience "actual reality". Jeoshua
Really? I write that story and you quibble on the definition of "constant". Read the story, it takes it all into account. What I mean by that is that Time Moves Always, even if your perception of it will change, and while within a dialated time "field" your perception of time doesn't ever change even if an outside observer would say you slowed down... NOT that it doesn't change.
REZ01
Really? I write that story and you quibble on the definition of "constant". Your surprised at this? ha.. It's actually a good theory and was looking for a quote or hint of the author.. didn't know it was your own.. Nice. I'm no expert and will not try to sound like one.. I grew up with my father building satellite and satellite equipment for what is now AT & T.. so you can imagine the talk around the dinner table.. I've always kinda knew "like Most" the theory and laws of relativity would be found obsolete.. Or at least in hole.. I'm excited to see how this turns.. And hope to see " In my life time" many more exciting finds of this nature.. maybe a more solid theory base for Dark Matter, deterministic chaos and taking on a couple more then Six Dimensions. So get the time travel thing going, so someone can travel back in time and let me know how it all turns out..
Skrypto
Hehe, I love these topics, they get your brain going! Makes you wonder all sorts of things, like what is at the basis of our perceived existence, the ultimate "What" questions that drive us mad. I love shows like "The Universe" and "Andromeda" , and basically anything discussing the meaning, purpose, and origin of creation, perception of reality, and the mathematics and mechanics of the universe. Check out the "Cosmic Apocalypse" Episode of "The Universe" , quite an entertaining video. They don't delve too much into the heavy and complex math, it is more for entertainment, but still pretty interesting to watch and think about. The episodes about time, space, light, gravity and dark matter & dark energy are also very interesting.
WizardOfAtlantis
There is a very neat little anime series called Gunbuster that revolves around those ideas such as OP's book. Very neat little series, all wrapped around cute little girls in Big Mecha fighting off aliens, etc etc. Good stuff, if a little dated style-wise, but fun nevertheless.
