SKSE Launcher application.

Ive recently installed the SKSE but I am left wandering why I always have to start the game through the SKSE application instead of the actual game launcher itself. If I start the game through steam or by Skyrim desktop icon, my mods that depend on it will give me a warning. Is it really mandatory to start with the SKSE launcher everytime?

Yes, you must use the SKSE launcher always. Just create a shortcut of it and place it on your desktop and change the icon if you wish.

skse works differently than script dragon and needs to hook itself into the game.

for the benefits of what it adds to the mix its worth it.

Ok, I have a new question, but I'm gonna use this Thread anyways.

So the thing is, my SKSE always starts the Skyrim Launcher and not directly the game, and my SkyUI complains that SKSE isn't running if I go along with it.

I already tried removing the launcher, but steam complained.

Any Idea how to fix this?

Did you simply drop the SKSE files properly in the folder and use it to launch. You didn't need to delete or change anything.

Nah I deleted the Skyrim Launcher, to test if it would be a workaround.

 

I just installed Script Dragon now everything works just fine.

Excpept the CTDs every few minutes of course, but hey thats Bethesda for me. ^^
