Deleting Mods

Sorry if this is a noobish question, but I added mods thru NMM - and then it started throwing errors everytime I opened it so I reinstalled it. Now, even when a mod is marked un-activated in it, it's still active in game. How can I uninstall the mods so only NMM controls them?
