Installing mods

Heey!

I was just wondering why it is crazy hard to install some mods.

I mean normally I just extract using winrar and then drag, drop and check it in the launcher.

That worked fine for me in my first oblivion run with like 30 mods on without crashes.

Why do I need now the mod manager, boss, wyre bash and TES4Edit?

It takes hours before I figured them all out just to use the omods or unique landscapes mod.

Isn't there just a easy way for this?

greets.

If you use a lot of mods, you will have mod conflicts and load order problems. That is why we have OBMM, BOSS, and Wrye Bash.

If you download mods made by modders who don't really know what they are doing, you will have dirty mods. If you use a lot of mods, conflicts between various sets of mod dirt added by various mods can become more serious. You can end up with CTDs. TES4Edit is actually more of a tool for modbuilders than a tool for gamers. But if the mods you download are bad, or you want to do some mod-building, then it is an important tool.

So the options you are left with are to either use very few or no mods, or else to learn how to use enough of the utilities to get the list of mods you want installed and working.
