Snapless
I am running Windows 7 64 bit and am having issues getting the DDS converter plugin for GIMP to function at all. The 32 bit starts and crashes without any error or notification, and the supposed '64 bit' version gives me an error: "The application was unable to start correctly (0x000007b). Click OK to close the application." Any suggestions on how to fix? Or does anyone know of a good, cheap (functioning) converter, either stand-alone or built for Paint Shop Pro (not Photoshop) that will work in Win7 64? Fisrion
It sounds like your version of gimp and the plugin don´t like each other. For me it works on Windows 7 64 bit with builds from Partha.
SkjoldBjorn
Think ATI/AMD got a converter, should be on the tes wiki somewhere. Not sure if those are updatet or not.But question just for fun, did you try running GIMP with administrator privileges? Using cheap solutions can often work. Other than that i would need more information as i have not encountered that problem myself. But with error messages like that i usually uninstall the program(that means the plugin and GIMP), manually delete registry keys and folders then try again. jsnider193
Not entirely sure but sounds like can't find the plugin .. are you sure installed in correct folder? C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins I still have problems with this message but when hit enter it loads gimp for me. Other than making sure in above folder might try reinstall

For me it works on Windows 7 64 bit with builds from Partha. Uninstalled the builds I had, cleaned registry keys, folders, etc. Installed Partha build. Works great! Thank you! Fisrion's link helped me out a LOT. But to answer your question, yes I tried running as admin. That's something I always check. :) Not entirely sure but sounds like can't find the plugin .. are you sure installed in correct folder?
