Stuck on Quest

First off sorry if this has been asked before? Had a quick look through some of the threads and could not see anything.

 

Ok my problem, I have almost completed the Dark Brotherhood quest, the part I'm stuck at is " Honor Thy Mother"

 

I have met the remaining members at Applewatch Farm and got teleported to the statue of the Lucky Old Lady.

 

Arquen informs you the statue is a mask for the hidden entrance to the Night Mother's sanctuary. She will then recite an incantation to reveal the entrance, and all of the members will enter before you; go with them to meet the Night Mother.

 

This is where nothing happens, Arquen does not recite the incantation and i'm frozen to the spot can't move can't skip using the console.

 

Any ideas please?

 

My PC is well above spec for playing and only have a hanfull of mods installed e.g better grafix mods only NO quest mods.

This is a pretty common bug, it's one where the script is removed from the NPC, I have no idea why or how. but one of the reasons is knocking an essential NPC out.

these steps will most likely fix it.

-Open the console with ~

-Target Arquen/or any other stuck followers.

-Type resurrect on each of them, this will reset their script. and most likely they will move inside now.

 

If the screen still aint over then, there's something else wrong - no idea how to fix it then.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I'm having the same problem as the OP.

 

We teleport to the statue, Arquen tells me we're about to begin and then they all go into the statue without any incantation. The resurrect console command doesn't work because I can't move to get close enough to target anyone. I'm frozen in place; can't move, can't open my inventory, nothing.

 

The only thing that seems noticeably out of the ordinary is that the screen says "loading area" for a long time right when we get there, even while Arquen is speaking to me.

I don't think you need to be close to them to select them for console commands, do you? I thought you could click on just about anything on the screen from the console menu. Maybe I'm wrong; I've only ever tried from up close. Edited January 5, 2012 by Rennn

Ah, yes. I see what I was doing wrong. Unfortunately doing it correctly didn't help, anyway. =(

 

Same issues: Arquen doesn't recite the incantation, they all go into the statue and I'm frozen in place, can't tab into my inv/map/etc. I can play around it from my save game, but it's really disappointing that I can't finish the quest. Oh, well.

(open the statue: console > setstage dark18mother 30)

 

console > enableplayercontrols

eliminates the cinematic restrictions

if you cannot enter the crypt:

console > coc bravilcryptofthenightmother

make sure that all 4 members of the brotherhood are in the crypt, otherwise teleport them to your location. If you play OpenBetterCities, the NPCs may try to reach the Bravil Better Cities AI Crate a few blocks away by trying to walk through walls. If you toggle them TCL, there might be no need to teleport them.
