GrandmasBasement
Ok, so I ran nexus mod manager, it used to work fine. Now its telling me that it can't find "Realistic Textures etc... .7z"and "Tytanis.7z" and so on and so on for every single one of my mods.It made me delete like 4 mods, i just figured hey I'll reinstall them but then i realized it was doing it for every single mod. why on earth would nexus mod manager care if i deleted the zip files that i've already extracted to my data folder
SkjoldBjorn
Because modders have to zip their files before they upload, either .7z or .zip(and .rar?). You can't upload any mods to the nexus without doing this first, so it's probably built around that system and uses them as a reference point. Not sure though, if you don't like it you can always use wrye bash instead for example.
GrandmasBasement
so when I install a mod, i have to keep the zip file too? that just seems like a huge waste of space to me.Mods like tytanis and skyrim hd can take up GB's. thats not cool. ishmaeltheforsaken
I... but... um... How would you uninstall or re-install the mod without the original archive? Magic?
SkjoldBjorn
I see the problem, strange that it would have arhived files dependency to work properly, i don't use it myself so im not sure about settings etc.
