[IDEA] The Dovakhiin Foundation

Hi everyone

I've seen lots of people talking about fort mods, shop owning mods and generally ways to give the player something to spend their cash on later in the game. Unfortunately there are few ways to create a genuine money sink for the super-rich hardened adventurer.

I'm sure people will be along with castle mods and ocean cruisers to let the Dovakhiin live the lifestyle of the rich and famous, but I'd like to take a leaf out of the philanthropists' book and find ways for the player to just... give money away. Lots of money.

The first charitable causes that spring to mind are

1. Honorhall orphanage - after the end of the Innocence Lost questline, the player has the option to go back at any time and donate funds to help Constance keep the orphanage running

2. Refuges for the homeless - this might involve a new, minor faction. I will check the lore and see what fits.

3. A hospice / asylum where mad NPCs can go to be 'cured'; this might not be as nice as it sounds, as Nord ideas of treatment for the insane are probably not up to much...

Does anyone else have any ideas? Whether you would install this mod or not, have there been any times you've thought aw, someone should do something about that! (Even if you then thought WELL IT'S NOT GOING TO BE ME and set fire to the village... I don't really mind I just want your ideas!

Thanks

Z

While the obvious choice for a soup-kitchen faction would be worshippers of Stendarr, with the Vigilantes an active NPC faction likely to get some mod love, I'm a bit worried about writing something that conflicts with them. Obviously they aren't much like the priests of Stendarr in OB. I wonder if Mara's followers would bother - they seem more of a home, hearth and respecting your elders kind of bunch...?

Awesome... the Dovahkiin is actually Nye Bevan.

A network of hospitals could tie in to a plague storyline rather neatly. The other post-main-quest money-sink, if you've...

...sided with the Imperials and got rid of Ulfric, could be to help upgrade the Grey Quarter in Windhelm.

That would cost a blimmin' fortune.
