Extreme Laggy Unplayable Fresh Install

i have the same problem too with my 1.4.20 beta patch. The game just stutters like crazy on my Nvidia GTX 285 and Intel i7 920 2.6 ghz. It never stuttered like this before until now. Could it be the 2K HD texture pack?

oh na. im not intentionally "bumping" im finding things that work better/worse. I have got it pretty stable but it sucks that i can't run SSAA anymore with it. Its just will not run with it on at all.

 

Before I did not have the latest set of drivers on my graphics card. I was on 11.12 of AT Catalyst. and im back on it and am afraid that if i upgrade again to 12.1 it won't work again.

 

Right now at this moment i can run the game with almost no lag. everyone and a while i will get a hicup and i won't be able to move for like .5-1 or 2 secs.

I doubt it was the HD textures. I had my game pretty much full pimped out wth Everything to the max using the Step guide. im following it again and its just not the same. HD- textures shouldn;t even effect you inless u have like a 5200RPM HD or only like 3GBs of ram. ur GPU and processor should handle it fine.
