eigodemokawaii
This is my first time posting to the forum so please remove if inappropriate. I have a problem where every character in FO4 has a dark head and a white body. I have tried disabling mods and researched for a couple hours but no luck. image: http://imgur.com/yCaLLKC Please someone help! VIitS
At a guess, you use a body/face texture replacer, and recently installed the high res texture pack. It's a result of different size textures for the diffuse vs normal/specular textures. Either uninstall the texture pack*, or uninstall the texture replacer. It's likely a loose file, so disabling/enabling plugins won't do anything, you have to actually uninstall it (or delete the texture, if you want to do it manually). An easy way to confirm that it is a texture conflict is to rename your textures folder (in your Data folder), then launch the game. It will no longer recognize that folder, and you should no longer see the problem. If you still see it, check the .ba2s added by mods you use, the texture might be there. If you STILL have the problem, then I have no idea. *or the specific part of it that contains the relevant textures, you can use the Bethesda Archive Extractor or the Fallout 4 DDS Image Viewer to find which one it is. eigodemokawaii
Thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately i did not work. But i have figured out that its more of a color mismatch when you change the color of the character. Every color i choose has a different color/body configuration. So when i choose "Dark" the head is different usually lighter.... and when i choose one of the lighter colors the head goes darker. Its really strange. VIitS
That definitely is weird, since the skin colors are just overlays with a certain rgb value. It really shouldn't be possible for a mod to affect that sort of thing, without making a significant change to the way the game engine handles the different skin colors. I can'y think of a single reason that it could happen that way, so I'd recommend verifying the integrity of your game cache. It shouldn't even be possible for a mod to break the game that way, not that I know of anyway. If that doesn't work, check if it happens (1) with all mods disabled and all loose files moved into a new folder*, and check if it happens (2) in a new game. If (1) and not (2) (i.e. happens with no mods, but only in current save game), then that would unfortunately mean your save game is corrupted, and you are most likely SoL.If (1) and (2) (happens w/ no mods, and in a new game even after verifying integrity of game cache), then you probably have something wrong with the files despite the verification saying it's fine, and you should try reinstallingIf (2) and not (1) (doesn't happen when mods are all fully disabled, but happens on new game when mods are disabled), then you have a weird conflict somewhere with an impressively game-breaking mod, and you need to figure out which one. That is likely to be a long, tedious problem, especially if it's due to a loose file somewhere (which it shouldn't be, since you said my suggestion did nothing, but anything is possible with a Bethesda game). *I suggest just making a new folder in your Data folder, and moving all other folders in your data folder into that folder. You can then move them right back out once you diagnose the problem.
