igora
hello everyone ! i followed the steps found here : Creating an armour for Skyrim pt 1http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Creating_an_armour_for_Skyrim._Part_1 since my armor has a shoulder armor that comes across the belly, in blender i duplicated the main female body_0.nif and send one to another layer ( M ) and made the shoulder there while the main rest of the body was done in another layer question : must i move my 2 parts in the same layer before export ? when it comes to the texture part question : must a add a DDS file ? question : i have no DDS file, where can i get one? pekkape
DDS is the texture format used for TES since Morrowind as far as I know or even from Arena as well maybe?Well you must make your texture in size of 2x2, 4x4, 8x8 and so on up to 4096 or even double size as well. I recomendate 1024x1024 for an armor texture and some say double it.You dont need it to be quadra as 512x256 works good as well as one exampleA dds will have several layers with smaller versions of your main texture, under it to avoid lagDownload and peek in the retexture mods that are out there for armors and then you will see much better how to do them.Get a DDS export/import for gimp or Photoshop. You will find one at NVDIAs homepage. I also use dxtBMP Also search for texture tutorials for Oblivion, Morrowind and Skyrim. :)
