Hi. I am the Dovahkiin. Throughout my presence in Skyrim i have done the following.

  • being the first Dragonborn in many years
  • killed the returning dragons
  • saved the world from Alduin's wrath
  • cleared several tombs, dungeons, and bandit hideouts
  • became archmage
  • became harbinger of the Companions
  • has the ability to kill a whole city with my sword 'n' shield
  • got the ability to raise dead, summon various creatures
  • befriend every single goodwilled person
  • being master of the guilds of Skyrim
  • being thane in several cities
  • solved problems of most peoples of Skyrim

Then, several things guards have said to me.

  • I used to be an adventurer like you. Then i took an arrow in the knee.
  • Aren't you the new member of the companions ? So you do what, fetch the mead ?
  • I've seen your kind sneaking about. Keep your hands away from my pockets !

Yep. So much for immersion huh ?

Yep, you're kinda the Vivec of the 4th era by the end of Skyrim. An all powerfull dude/gal with the blood of a god.

I bet that by TES VI, Beth will make canonical that the Dovahkiin went Pelinal on the Thalmor's... lower back :P

Sad that i couldnt duel anyone besides Tsun in Sovengarde, Ysgramor vs. 4th era Dovakhiin! Or a shouting duel between the Dovahkiin and Windcaller! Even Shor would gasp at such event.

Not that Windcaller would accept dueling with you anyway...

I'm just going to throw this out here, but it could be a case of the masculine guards, female guards excluded, feeling slightly inferior to the Dragonborn. I've noticed it in real life, if there are a group of guys mulling around in public, when the public is mostly just average men and women, then they don't really feel the need to chest pump and just keep to themselves, but the second a 6'6 muscle bound guy walks into the scene then they are swearing and making a display of themselves in a clear attempt to make themselves feel adequate in-front of someone who is clearly superior to them physically.

It's just an idea, it sort of makes sense for the guards to feel inferior to the Dragonborn and want to be disparaging towards him/her because of it. :turned:

Beth can't do AI at all. That and they keep trying to appeal to action fans, not RPG fans.

If Obsidian could do an all round experience with both deep characters/story and an open and complex world, Beth surely can, its just not on their priority list.

After playing FONV i dont believe that excuse of "You cant have deph on an open world!" Lies, or lack of skill to make it happen.

Or lack of profit in making it happen. :(

Where the ppl get these ideas that every video company out there is hardly making any profit?

Oblivion sold almost 2 million copies in its first month. FO3 sold almost 5 million copies in its first 2 months. Skyrim sold 8 million copies in its first month. And you tell me that they dont have the money? Or worse, that they have less money that Obsidian so they cant pull up the same kind of stuff in their games?

Thats not even counting the 8 DLCs of Oblivion, with its two expansions, and the 5 DLCs of FO3, and probably some percentage of FONV sales with its 4 DLCs that probably Beth got for the licence.

According to the Entretainment Software Association, video game retail sales of 2006 were around the 7 billion dollar mark, where the video game retail sales of 2010 were around the 15 billion dollar mark. And Beth's sales show that they increased their profits in the same way as the rest of the industry, so dont go and tell me that they dont have the money cuz thats another lie that has no basis according to every sales number out there from their past 2 big releases (cuz they dont dare to publish sales figures of their DLCs).
