Ok so I've played through DA:I a few times already, but this time I'd really like to try some mods. I am completely lost. I DLed the Mod Manager v0.59alpha and some mods. I've got them in the list and have merged, but so far nothing in game. My mesh settings are up to Ultra, though I turned my textures down...don't want to blow up my computer (I really need to instal that new GFx Card). Anyway, I tried another merge with the custom merge destination. Still nothing. Do I need to be using a different program? I got a few new hairstyles, an eyelash mod, and the eyes of the inquisitor mod. They all said they were up to date. Can anyone school this noob, please??? Thanks!

What message do you get at the end of the Merge process?

If Mod Manager doesn’t work, the mods aren’t showing up in your game or your game fails to load, use the ‘Repair Game’ option in your Origin client. I've read that such issues can also happen if you have two copies of the game on the computer installed in different places.

General Troubleshooting Steps

Make sure...

... you run the DAI Tools Suite and the Game as admin

... you have the following programs installed on your PC: SlimDX, DirectX11 and .NET Framework 4 or higher

... both your game's path and your mods' path are correct ( Dragon Age Path where you have your DragonAgeInquisition.exe )
... your mods and the ModManager aren't in the same folder

EDIT: Personally, I didn't select any of the three options, maybe this will help you!

So far It's tole me the merge was successful each time I've done (and redone) it.

I don't (yet) have DAI Tools Suite, JUST the Mod Manager I posted the pic of. I've no idea if that's all I should be using. (There should really be a noob tutorial on how to get started with mods, none I've found)

Not sure what SlimDX is, but I'll look for it.

As for the other stuff I'm good on those fronts as far as I'm aware.

Did I understand you correctly, you don't use this one: http://www.nexusmods.com/dragonageinquisition/mods/693/? ( DAITools Suite Loader )

If not, I recommend you to use this version and here is the tutorial for it: http://daimodder.tumblr.com/post/123864968464/dai-mod-manager-tutorial

Well, SlimDX is an open-source API to DirectX programming under .NET Framework. But I think you don't need it if you only use mods, rather if you want to create mods by yourself with the ModMaker. I've installed all of them because I do both, use and create mods and I just recommend it, but the important one for you is .NET Framework 4 or higher. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49981 ( version 4.6.1 - for example )

OK thank you so much!! I will get on those now!!

Also, I will probably never create a mod lol. The last time I even attempted that was way back in The Sims 2...I am just not as savvy as I once was with all this newfangled technology lol

Well, they worked...for the NPCs...grrr...I can't seem to get any of the hairdos on my actual character (in the BE). I know some of the mod posts said they may only show once out of the creator, but still no dice....hmmmm...

Check your game settings and set the graphics meshes and textures to Ultra or higher than Default, when using hair mods your mesh settings must be set to Ultra, otherwise the hair won't show up in game and outside of cutscenes. Most mods don't appear in BE, leave it and check if it's displayed, for example, in Haven. ( I know you said you've set it on ultra but check it again though - maybe it has been reset. )

Are it only the hair mods which aren't shown up in game? The other mods work for your character? Make sure you don't use any mods that replace the same hairstyle. If there is more than one mod for the same vanilla hairstyle, you will only get one of them and the others will be overwritten. The same applies to all other mods, since I see that you have two eyelash mods. And make sure that you have chosen the right vanilla hairstyle and kind of mod ( race and gender ). Maybe this is the reason for your conflict.

I can imagine no other reasons for your issue, because the mods are displayed on the NPCs.

Or just open your Origin client, right-click on Dragon Age: Inquisition in your library, and select "Repair Game" and try merging your mods again after it's finished - if you haven't already done this.
