jet4571
Seems your thread wants a moderator to visit it for reasons beyond your comprehension and posted in the wrong forum. contact a mod and ask to have it moved, or just report yourself if a PM to a mod doesn't work and ask that way. Anyway that's a tall order porting HL2 assets over to Skyrim...
gmillar
What would be the point? Different games, different genres... it's not like anything form the sci-fi world of Half Life fits with anything from Skyrim. Not to mention, Valve already has solid modding tools for their games. This just seems... pointless.
jet4571
Its as pointless as porting Witcher 2 assets over to Skyrim. and yet Witcher 2 assets are being ported. as far as genre, its a mod ffs! it does not need to fit into the world or peoples expectations of what should be in that world or what shouldn't be in it. i could make a flying saucer and give it the dragons flying animations complete with death-rays. want to complain and say its not lore friendly when i tagged it as that? Sunnie
Witcher 2 assets are allowed by the IP owner, Half Life's owner does not.
gmillar
Except Witcher 2 assets fit into Skyrim pretty well, seeing as they're both medieval fantasies. If you didn't know about the Witcher, you might think they were part of the game (albeit with way better art direction). A flying saucer would be interesting if you were to actually tie it in with a story about aliens from another planet and s***. I actually play with the Cybertron moon because I think it helps give the game an atmosphere of unknown - imagine living in a world like Skyrim, and seeing this weird machine-looking planet floating in the sky. There is also theoretically some historical precedent - Cowboys and Aliens was loosely based on an actual theory posited by Zecharia Sitchens (sic) regarding ancient alien visitors called Anunnaki. Carvings of spacemen in Mayan temples, monuments like the pyramids or Ankhor Watt in Cambodia or the strange carved monoliths of the coast of Japan, etc. That said, running around in Skyrim with a gravity gun in an HEV suit seems random and pointless. Just my opinion though.
jet4571
pointless as "different games". if you want them then play the game that has them. I am myself not a fan of content ported from 1 game to another regardless if the games genre is the same. I am more inclined to be interested if the genre clashes though because it is a mod and not part of the actual game. Oh and the HL2 universe could be easily tied into Skyrim. say when the Gman took Gordon away for those years between HL and HL2 he was in Skyrim playing Dragonborn.
