DorianGray92
Talked to ppl in the forum chat and seemed to get a gd response to these ideas. As the title suggests my idea, probs not the first to suggest it but throwing weapons, bows and arrows get old fast so it would be cool to have the choice for either shurikens, or more lore friendly throwing daggers/axes.Second Idea and the one Im more hoping someone great will attempt is for immersion to create some effect to occur during the nights of Skyrim, being a land of snow, ice and blistering storms, the real feel of it being so isn't there, as I suggested in the chats is maybe for the cold to reduce stamina gain and/or increase its usage, cuz its hard to breath in a frozen environment but not all doom and gloom when it gets dark, maybe add a fire effect such as if you get near a camp fire or the like it warms you and either removes the cold effect or adds bonus effects.Regardless of where this topic goes Skyrim is still #1 in my books. Whenever it's cold enough for frost, one of the first things I notice is the condensation of breath and people's demeanour/gait becoming 'huddled,' or hunched is a better word for it. I think you're absolutely right that there is currently something missing and I think Bethesda have done a marvelous job on the environment; I just think that the gamer tends to mirror the feelings and behaviours of personas on screen. If Skyrim entities strut about like they're in Bethesda, Maryland then the gamer is missing just another sensory clue to how cold his/her environment is supposed to be. For instance, the first 20 mins of Half-Life 2 went out of its way to make you feel oppressed in an unfamiliar police state. That oppression was evident in every single citizen you meet and in how they react to both you, the gamer, and each other. It wasn't just because some squad was after you with batons and guns; some squad is always after you with batons and guns and gunships oh my! But the benefit of such a strong modding community (and a developer doing their utmost to empower) is that little details like these can be tried out easily and kept (or not) according to individual taste. raden5
throw axes that would be realy great!!!, and I agree with the interaction with weather, especially when you hit the ice water, plus it would give a real advantage to the Nordic race, as they would have more resistance to these effects. sorry...google translation... TolarisOmega
There was an Oblivion mod, Deadly Reflex, that did the throwing weapons thing. And stuck where the weapon hit too. The only problem I had was that conflicted with one of the other mods I had, messed up the camera if I sat down, kind of a drag.So its definitely doable, and Skyrim's engine is supposed to be better. I'd say this mod, combined with spears too. Then a mod that allows for melee hits with a wizard's staff. Blocking with two weapons.
Tsewe
I mean come on. A viking game with wood elves too, but no throwing weapons? Javelins and throwing axes are a must!! Isnt there anyone working on such a mod??
