Neuro - Do they work?

Don't be self conscious, people will have nothing but respect for someone trying to get in shape and people who say otherwise are not worth your time. Start off with some basic exercises in your room like push-ups and sit-ups. If you do sit-ups every morning before school/work and every night before bed you should notice some improvement. Start off with a lower number and increase by 1-5 sit-ups each night, but if you plateau off than just keep going at your current number. Don't strain yourself but don't give up as soon as you start to feel the burn, those last few reps are what counts. Eating healthy food is a very important thing to. If you are 15 (like your profile says) and your household isn't the best for eating healthy than let your parents know. Maybe go grocery shopping with your mom and pick up some food you like which is good for you. Don't starve yourself either because your metabolism will slow down to save energy if it isn't being fueled. When you are confident enough to start going to a gym than you can start to loose more rapid weight (hopefully it won't take long to gain that confidence because people go to a gym to get in shape, and there will be many others loosing weight there also). Don't be afraid to work up a sweat. Workout will start off a bit painful (a different sort of pain) and you will ache, but after the first week or so your muscles get used to it. If you need a place to talk or want to tell someone how you are doing I am sure there are many here (including myself) who could give you a few tips or lend an ear.

everything sounds easy enough... except for the parents part... my parents seem to go places when i don't want to... just earlier (3 minutes) my mom gave me a foot soak thing for an ingrown toenail i removed a week ago....

everything else i can do a bit at home ,then stay after school to use the schools track/whatever it's called

Do minor things to start. Using the stairs instead of an elevator. Purposely park further away when going out. Go inside to place your order and carry-out if you're getting fast food, instead of the drive-thru. If you have stairs in your house, make it a point to go up and down them several times a day just as a course of normal behavior.

Can add to this in subtle ways... Do stretches when you wake up in the morning. Take a walk around your house, building, block when you aren't doing much for the next 10-15 minutes. Add more fruit and vegetables (not potato or corn) to your diet instead of processed snacks. Drink water instead of soda.

All of these are small changes that don't take much and can make a big difference over time.
