greekrage
HOW do i stop rain from coming inside ? Im trying various types of roofs but i need to use one thats one sided so i can see outwards (skylight) . Is there a specific value that is missing or does the nif have this quality pre built into it ?? Is there a type of plane i could use to do this ? Cybordania
Don't know if this will help or not but I asked basically this same question about a year or so ago and at that time was told by none other than Darren from DDProductions83, and I quote (roughly). " If you can see through it then the rain will fall through it." My main question to him was about his then, newly released metal and wood glass bits. Told me that he had tried to find an occlusion plane or someway thru variables to stop rain but that Bethesda just didn't make one available. I even played with changing some myself to try and mimic solid wood pieces to no avail. Just my 2 cents ...

I had figured that much out as well with all the trials of "see through" materials ive tried.Im pretty sure there is a way to add a "blocking" characteristic to a piece with the help of maybe a keyword etc.. but people with experience arent answering.. So for now im going to have to make my own skylight but with a roof and surrounding windows (light coming in from the perimeter of the skylight ).. werr92
Not 100% sure about if it has been changed in F4 but... In Skyrim rain was a partical effect that applied to the player's camera. So "realistic shelters" for that time solved it in a straight forward way: it removed rain drops camera fx when you stepped under the roof (trigger box). And when you came out of it game mechanic forced those drops in a while again (that is how the weather system works). So back in Skyrim it was a parallelepiped box attached to your camera with a number of parameters (density, size, color, speed, angle) coupled with it. Now i doudbt that since f4 BGS created a havok simulated rain and the mechanism has been changed... but you know, if there is smth I've learned for 5 years of playng with CK, it is that ... war... war never changes.
