GomuGomu64
Edit: Nevermind. I just noticed I am now, all of a sudden, getting what you are with your NPCs. My DarkElf guardian's head skin is different to the skin of her body, I.E Pinky-purple head, blue-purple body. Will do some digging around. foretrenty
@GomuGomu64: The discoloration could be caused by not having a 'npc makeup/warpaint texture'. Every NPC has a face texture in their own textures in textures\...\skyrim.esm\. Notice your new Muiri dont have warpaint. They are named just like the meshes, 13282e.dds or example. Look in textures.bsa. Your new NPC need a new NPC texture. Name it <NewNPCFormID>.dds, put it in the right path in the textures folder. One of the reasons I havent add that feature in the editor. GomuGomu64
@Foretrenty Muiri ain't mine, XD But thanks for the info! Going to do me some scrounging. Thanks mate!
jet4571
@Foretrenty, I know that and made a copy of the warpaint texture and renamed it to the same as the NPC's ID. I even included the file path in one of the posts.
GomuGomu64
Seems like I've got something going with all the @s flying about XD @Foretrenty I too have done the same. Perhaps we are mis-understanding, and you could upload a mod that shows us all the correct directories, files, subrecords, etc.?
jet4571
The correct location is \data\textures\actors\character\facegendata\facetint\skyrim.esm\NPCID#.dds substuitute NPCID# with the ID of the NPC.

jet4571
No worked on it for hours last night. drove me nuts too. even the Muiri that is exactly the same as the vanilla one but with a new ID only didn't have the facetint even though there was one with the ID in the directory. I even went so far as to change the way she looks using the NPC editor and use Nifskope to change the texture to the new one. the head worked with all the changes including purple hair except for the tintmask still didnt show. The editor made NPC's use default ID and tintmask so that's why it works and the tintmasks are listed someplace is what I am thinking. I looked for a list but couldn't find any so I couldn't prove my theory. If there is a list then it would be easy enough to insert a new entry with the new ID. GomuGomu64
Well. After all my trial and error (Messing around with subrecords, changing IDs, etc.) I just noticed that the cloned npc also alters the original NPC's face, to the strange pinky colour. I'm going to do some hex-searching for this. See what I find >:D
