Amelinde Posted January 30, 2012 Share Posted January 30, 2012 Hi all, I bought my Xbox about two months ago just to play Skyrim, and as of yesterday was up to about level 43 I think (though I was many many more hours in than you might expect...side quests are my main quests!). Later that day I logged in again and found that my save files were gone - I only have the option to start again. It's that simple. My save file has totally disappeared. I can't remember how many save versions I had when this happened, I think two or three. I always rely on hard saves and periodically deleted all auto-saves to keep only a couple of the most recent files. The files get saved to a plug in hard drive. The other profile on the machine still has its game. Does anyone have any idea what's happened here? It was actually Xbox support who directed me to the forum. I'm hoping someone can help, but I'm not getting my hopes up! Anne-Marie PS Apologies to mods if this topic is in the wrong area or already exists. I mean the community seems great (and I regret buying Skyrim on console as a result) but I'm not sure anyone here can help me with this specific issue. Basically I just gave up and started again about two days ago. I feel like I can't trust the game at all though, and I kind of resent playing now since I've gotta do everything again especially when it doesn't seem like I did anything wrong. Frustrating... Thanks for the reply anyway :) I've been thinking - what the hell do you do when your character gets stuck or something? Compared to PC, having the game on Xbox seems to totally suck. I tend to agree with those in the review thread that suggested the vanilla game sucks and it actually needs mods to pull a score of 8/10. Someone over there had actually experienced exactly the same thing. They had a higher level Kahjiit - about 60 vs my 43ish char, had just purchased a house and decked it out, then the entire game file disappeared. Awesome.
