To Be Safe! 1.4 will have to Prove it's self...

Is this a poem?

If you haven't already done so, you might want to try the beta. I've had the game freeze a few times on me while playing with it, but I assume that's simply because of compatibility issues with SKSE.

Running mods like SkyUI or those which require SKSE and then patching the game and getting mad at the patch when bugs happen isn't very rational. I would expect such things to happen. This patch seems really good. Atleast I have had no issues with it. But then I have opted to not use mods that are likely to be broken by patches until patching is complete or nearly complete.

To be safe I have disabled the Automatic update

So 1.4 will have to prove it's self to me before

I go for it. I run a few MODs and would hate to

Have the game Crash after update.

That isn't safe. Steam doesn't honor the "Do not update this game" option. You'll need to put Steam into offline mode until you're ready to download the patch.

Errr....SkyUI doesn't get totally broken by the beta patches, it loses some functionality until the SKSE team update SKSE, which they do within a few hours of each patch. It isn't necessary to uninstall either. I use the TESVSGM to launch and as soon as there is a patch I change it to point at the updated TESV.exe rather than the SKSE loader. SkyUI works except for the search function. As soon as they update SKSE I then change TESVSGM to point to the SKSE loader again.

And Rooker75 is correct.
