Marxist ßastard
Another stupid lawsuit Off-Topic thread... This really takes me back. Apparently, SCO, formerly Caldera, is now claiming that they own UNIX, contrary to recently released documents -- therefore, SCO is attempting to make the authors of Linux distributions, companies that use the operating system, and even individual users of Linux (Ha! Take that, RIAA!) liscense with the company because the Linux kernel contains code from UNIX. Funny how it turns out that both in Morrowind and the real world, Caldera is full of imperialist bastards. ...And, of course, the obligatory Slashdot link. DiseasedPunk
Heh such a load of BS. SCO should know linux is under GNU license agreement and also OPEN SOURCE. If they really didn't wan't all that code getting out and into other distrobutions of linux(not even sure if it was there in the first place) then they should have made another UNIX os. Adrian Laguna
That lawsuit should fall apart, unless: 1) the Judge is a complete idiot. 2) the Judge was paid money underhanded. 3) the Judge holds considerable SCO stock.Unfortunately as Albert Einstein said, "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." If the lawsuit holds up, I will consider option 1 as the reason. Marxist male without a father, I could have sworn you were leaving for good, you said that in some post a while back. Anyway... Welcome Back! MWSource: We waaaantssss it, we neeeeedssss it.
eldowan
Heh such a load of BS. SCO should know linux is under GNU license agreement and also OPEN SOURCE. If they really didn't wan't all that code getting out and into other distrobutions of linux(not even sure if it was there in the first place) then they should have made another UNIX os. SCO does not recognize linux's claim to the GNU license, and believes that since the code that they hold the copyright to was placed into linux without their explicit permission, that the GNU license wouldnot apply. How would making another version of UNIX prevent code from being leaked / hacked? I am very pro Linux, BTW.
