Beetle tank build

For my next build I was considering trying a completely defensive approach. The idea would be to be so heavily fortified with heavy armor, blocking and alteration while healing with restoration to be able ignore any damage inflicted by opponents.

So I was curious if anyone had tried this playstyle and found it to be fun/viable.

I would imagine an imperial would be a good way to go- emperors voice could save your skin when you are in danger of being overwhelmed. The head start on restoration would be nice as well.

Enchantments to increase health, health regen and fortify restoration would be obvious choices.

Many quests I could just barge through and grab the target at the end. For others though where the target needs to be killed I could maybe just take a follower and heal them continuously to allow them to do the job. Otherwise a combination of shield bashing and unarmed with perks could be interesting.

Fun or not fun? Thoughts?

I have with a paladin esque type character. really all you want to do is heavy armor, block and restoration. Alteration really doesn't work well with Mage Armor perk unless you're NOT wearing armor and this applies to Dragonhide as well. personally you'll want to outfit yourself with heavy +smithing items plus potions, make a full set of Legendary Daedric Armor and pump a substantial amount of points into heavy armor, block, restoration and maybe one handed. you'll be a little at a disadvantage against flying dragons and ranged mobs but anything that gets in your face will find itself eating a lot of shield. my paladin (feeling a little sadistic) once pissed off the entire capital of Solitude along with the Blue Palace guards, Imperials and every guard and they couldn't bring her down below 75% health...this was on hard difficulty.

Actually the beetle reference was me thinking of hive robbing beetles. They are built so well armored that not a single bee sting can touch them, so they just barge in and take what they want.

I figure I can kill dragons through healing my followers and maybe my only real offensive/ranged skill will be dragon shouts.......could be fun. I currently have Esbern following me (he keeps saying we should keep moving.....hurry!) and I am finding him very useful as a little helper. Stupid Delphine can wait. Oh and BTW my first thief build character managed to pick pocket Delphine of all of her weapons and armor before facing the dragon with her......so funny watching her run around naked trying to punch the dragon.

This will definitely be my next build.....thanks for the feedback.

Do NOT put more then 1 point into juggernaut if your mixing heavy armor with daedric or dragon smithing. The armor cap is around 580 anything above that does nothing and having it too high can produce glitches. Feel free to use the rest of the heavy armor perks though.
