Amulet of Kings for Skyrim

not saying i don't like lore, but at the point it causes you to be fanatical about it is when you need to take a chill pill

You play a game based off the lore, you should be fanatic about it. It's what makes Tamriel, well, Tamriel. It's what makes Skyrim, Skyrim.

If lore says it's destroyed, you could always try to dance around it somehow. However, going all "OMGWTFLOL WE GOT MAGIC N STUFF N ITZ NOT SPCIFIED SO I DECIDE ITZ LIEK DIS!!". -- Not stating you react that way, but a few people do.

Though I see no problems with the idea of "recreating" the amulet from a( or multiple) dadreic planes. It's a piece of junk anyways, and wouldn't do anybody good. It looks decent though, and is a nice way to hit the Planes again.

Anyways, that is a lot of work to pull off. Making the planes of Oblivion from scratch isn't as easy as you'd think. At least when you'd want some decent level design in it -- something that was missing in the previous TES game.

Really, dude? Piece of junk? That piece of junk literally saved the whole of Nirn from a power-hungry Daedric prince that wanted to conquer the world and create a new land on it. Let's ALSO not forget that it was made by the Aedra. So, if this Amulet, created by the GODS themselves, is a piece of junk, can you even PLAY Skyrim without thinking everything is a piece of junk? I mean come on, how is a Mage's Circlet better than the Amulet of Kings? That was my first point.

My second point is, that there is no need to shove the lore down the throat of other people, even as you like it. I LOVE the lore, i know VERY much about it, in my guild in ESO, I am literally the person people turn to when they need some advice or help about the lore or something. Some people don't like it, some people do. Deal with it.

My third point, nobody knows if the Amulet survived or not, except the Daedra and the Aedra, perhaps, more likely the Aedra, as they created it, mainly Akatosh. It could be destroyed, it could be faded, it could be around the neck of an Aedra or a Daedra by now, for all we know, or a silly goblin who happened to find it down the bottom of a lake, or an old man who pulled it out of his backside as it appeared there magically. WHO KNOWS? I mean, you haven't travelled to Oblivion personally, have you? How would you know? How would ANYONE know? That's the main thing here. People have hope that it still exists. Skyrim is their game, after all. They can turn it into a bloody joke, a beautiful garden of flowers, a deadly wasteland of death or the backside of a Clannfear for all i care. Infact, why should YOU care? THEY should care about their own games, not you, you should care about your own, and not shove lore that YOU believe is true down their throats.

My fourth point - Akatosh could just make a new Amulet of Kings, easy peasy. I mean, it would require a huge amount of power, perhaps, but still, it's very do-able. Take a couple of Aedra, squeeze some power in and SHAZAM! A new Amulet of Kings! Just like making orange juice! OR, a bunch of Daedric Princes could make it too, for all we know, i mean, they are more than the Aedra, and technically they are still Aedric beings that are just called Daedra cuz they did NOT want to help Lorkhan build Nirn. If the Skeleton Key, the great and powerful artifact of Nocturnal survived being on Nirn from the beginning, how can't the Amulet? BOOM! ITS MAGIC! TUN TUN TUN TUN TUN TUN TUN! TUNTUNTUTNTUNTUTN!!!

My fifth point - I wasn't raging, i was just being serious. (: Good day to you, sir, and heres a free fishstick!

For anyone who might think that this is not a very Lore-friendly idea. Please read:

So, we all know that the Chim El-Adabal was destroyed during the Oblivion Crisis, to be exact, at the very end, the very last day of the Third Era. When the Hero of Kvacth and Martin Septim went to the Imperial City's Temple of the One District to close the gates of Oblivion, Martin saw no other way than to sacrifice himself to save the Mundus.

The Amulet of Kings is one of few known Aedric Artifact, it is the "Heart of Akatosh", or a part of his mighty heart. It was first given to Alessia Septim and would later go on to her children, and their children's children.

But, during the Interregnum in the 2nd Era, the Septims had no place in the Empire, they were gone, but the Amulet of Kings was still there, deep within Sancre Tor. (The main quest for TES: Online).

After this Abnur Tharn, who was in ESO, took the Amulet of Kings and fled to the Imperial City to harness the power from the Chim El-Adabal (Amulet of Kings). He did not succeed.

Then, a few hundred years later, a young man appears, a Breton (or Nord) named Hjalti Early-Beard, who would later be known as Talos Stormcrown and later, Emperor Tiber Septim, who would conquer all Tamriel, and unite each Province under the Imperial Banner.

The Third Era, when the Emperor Family is assassinated starting with the death of Uriel Septim VII's sons, and then him, he wants the main character to find his last son, Martin Septim. (Main quest for TES4: Oblivion)

There it was destroyed. Or recalled to Aetherius? No one knows to be exact. The Amulet of Kings was said to be shattered for the Avatar of Akatosh to appear, but, like Daedric artifacts, it might have been called back to its original owner, Akatosh, who resides in Aetherius, as leader of the Divines.

Therefore, it is highly plausible that the Amulet of Kings could return to Mundus, when and if, a Septim appears, and Akatosh grants them his Heart.

My Conclusion: Possible. And if done correctly, very lore-friendly.

what would be the point of having the amulet? cosmetics? just wondering

If you read the copy of the amulet of king placed upon the emporors table (should you complete the dark brotherhood questline) it should do.... Nothing. Simply put even if the amulet did "magically" survive and was found you wouldn't be able to wear it. Unless you're a direct relative of the original owner, even though you are dragon born, it will simply fall right off your neck. So.... In conclusion. No point in it
