bazinga313 Posted March 20, 2017 Share Posted March 20, 2017 Hello everyone. So I've been really contemplating jumping into making mods and actually contributing to this lovely community. I want to make a mod to allow the player to turn into mist kind of like the bat form for vampires. Maybe you can turn into a dark cloud, or a ball of electricity, or fire or something. I want to make this for mage characters, especially necromancer types and be able to turn into dark mist and float around. So i have been watching some tutorials and some of them are good but I would like some advice from the greatest modding community on the net. So I'm in the creation kit, under magic effects and now I need to know what type of effects would allow me to make this type of spell. Any type of direction would be great. Thank you all. bazinga313 Posted March 20, 2017 Author Share Posted March 20, 2017 (edited) ok so Ive been messing around in the creation kit and I figured a good start would be to start with the vampire power of mist form. Then attempt to make a very simple spell to replicate it and essentially just change it from there. Unfortunately I am having trouble getting the spell to work in the game. I can find it with Console commands and add the spell, but the spell does not show up in my spell inventory and does not allow me to equip it. Thats were I stand now. May need to actually use the scripts that the mist form uses. Only downside is I was hoping not to have the dlc dependencies so hopefully I can find a way to make it with out the dlc. bazinga313 Posted March 21, 2017 Author Share Posted March 21, 2017 Ok so after a couple hours of messing around in the CK I still couldn't figure out how to get the character to actually go invisible when casting the spell. There is at least a mist floating around the character. Thinking of just duplicating the mist form spell for vampires and just editing it. I really just want to start from scratch. SMB92 Posted March 21, 2017 Share Posted March 21, 2017 You might want to look up a certain mod that lets you turn into a swarm of bats, I'm certain that exists. Try googling the terms. Decompile that and see what it does. Quite a bit of work making your custom assets, also I can't remember how to disable the character but you might like to look for an "anamorfus/animagus" mod, pretty sure I've seen that too. Thank you. I did find a True Batform for bat travel. I am looking at that mod right now trying to figure out how it works and trying to contact the mod author if it would be ok to possible use their mod to help make mine. I'll have to look for that anamorus/animagus mod. That could be helpful. Thanks for the help. I'm really wanting to learn as much as I can.
