Cirosan
I want to be able to edit and save a few changes to certain .w2phase files, but so far nothing has worked. Other files in pack0 have worked fine with Notepad++, but opening w2phase files with Notepad++ turns up a bunch of null sign gibberish. A long series of google searches didn't help much either. But I've seen other Witcher 2 mods (like the Radovid Persuasion Fix) edit them fine, so it must be possible. How do I edit w2phase files? Do I need to install RedKit, or is there a standalone way of editing and saving them?
mccalas
Same issue. I've been trying to figure it out and downloaded w3 told cause someone mentioned w2phase files in that thread. No luck. Did you figure it out?
Cirosan
Nope, still no luck here. I admit, this one is baffling me.
MidnightVoyager
Hey, you want Witcher 2's REDkit. It comes with the "extras" on Steam in the Tools menu, and you can get it from GOG if you have the game there. Look in the Asset Browser for the w2phase and edit it from there. You might need to use the search to find the right thing, because these are hard to navigate. Use edit/find and scroll left to find "By Script Function." When you save it, it will change the copy of the file in RedKit's directories. Navigate there, copy it out, merge it into your game. I don't know what method anyone else used, but this one at least works for me. WARNING: Changing script function will clear the ability name it adds. (If, say, you're doing like I am and trying to fix some broken story abilities, this is important) Edited April 26, 2017 by MidnightVoyager
