my mod, never appears on the first page and already has almost 200 indorse, unfair.

 

why is that? I saw other mods, such as hot files, downlaod and "endorse" a lot less. = / And I never had one bit. makes it unattractive to work on the mod in this way. = /

 

I sent a pm to adm, and he did not answer. one moderator said he did not know ......

 

Anyway, why? =////

The mods on the first page's "hot files" are based on the number of downloads/endorsements (dont remember which) during the last 2 weeks. So even if your mod is really popular the first day it might take another couple of days before it shows up there.

The Hot files category measures endorsements on the last 14 days for each mod. Only endorsements given during the last 14 days are measured against other mods. This category is likely meant for most recently endorsed files. There is another category (Top 100) that measures the total amount of endorsements without any restrictions on time period.

 

Example:

Your mod was added on 2 January 2012, about a month has passed. So some endorsements would be given more than 14 days ago. If your mod has 188 endorsements total, but 100 of the endorsements are given before the last 14 days, then effectively you are competing with 88 emdorsements. Other mods might have 100 endorsements in the last 14 days. The total amount of endorsements does not matter in this category, only mod popularity within the last 2 weeks matters.

 

Your mod was previously competing against very popular mods like SkyUI and others, so quite hard to make it into the Hot files. Its a luck thing. Just create mods for your enjoyment and don't think too much about the rest. =)
