Halororor
I never had any interest in this game's setting and when I heard about it and saw the first trailers a few years ago I never even thought about buying, but when I played it at a friend's house last year I fell in love with the game. I really struggle to play scary games( never finished doom3 and only barely finished quake 4), I take obscenely long times trying to keep as far away as posible from the creatures when I want to kill them. I don't care what other people say, this game IS scary, ever walked around a corner and heard that very scary noise the snork makes and you don't know where it's coming from. I swear, how can such a pansy monster make a sound like an enraged elephant? Anyway, Can anybody tell me where to find the rodents, cause I can't seem to find them and they are one of the highlights from the trailers. Also, is there any mods that might improve gameplay experience?
Jonlissla
Also, is there any mods that might improve gameplay experience? First of all, patch up the game, then download the mod Oblivion Lost. It adds alot of new features, like adding back the removed creatures, such as the dwarves and rodents. It also makes the game more realistic, and is definetely one of the best mods for the game. Anyway, Can anybody tell me where to find the rodents, cause I can't seem to find them and they are one of the highlights from the trailers. I don't remember if they removed them from the game afterwards, but I've heard that some people have seen them. Never seen them myslf, though. this game IS scary, Just wait until you get to the labs.... trust me, you won't be the same.... .... the horror..... :ninja:
Halororor
Just wait until you get to the labs.... trust me, you won't be the same.... .... the horror..... :ninja: I've been in lab x-18. Left it after the snorks, came back after a week and then finished it. I literally switched the monitor off when i encountered that weird huge creature. Later on you actually get used used to the monsters, but it still doesn't make it les scary when you suddenly stumble across one when you go round a corner
elpiggo
Invest in some very expensive 5.1 surround speakers. Turn all the lights out. Turn volume up full. Enjoy. In response to your question, I've never seen them, although I've never got further than the bar. This is all I could find on the official site:Mutant rodents live mainly in basements and destroyed buildings

Guest
Stalker was awesome. Although, the game kept crashing my computer.... But you know, I kept playing it, because it was sooo awesome. I remember those snorks, errrr. Like in those underground labs right? I walk around a corner, I see something in active camo, and all the sudden I hear a freaky noice and a bloodsucking freak is in my face. And also after that, when you coming out the labs through that manhole, that weird that makes you take a good look at his face. Made me jump first time i saw it. Awesome game. DirTek
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.???? ...was one of the most dissapointing games I ever player (and I played a LOT of games). I even enjoyed Boiling Point: Road to Hell more (and that game sucked too). When it was first announced I fell inlove with Stalker...but when I finally bought the game and started it up...after 1 day of trying to play I gave up...it was too damn dissapointing...I didn't wanted to quit it because it costed me money. But right now it's full of dust in one of the shelves from my room. So my advice to those that didn't bought Stalker yet: better buy one of the F.E.A.R. games...Doom III or anything else than Stalker if you want a nice horror and/or action FPS. Cheers  Maafiaman
Guest
i got back on stalker a few days ago and have been putting in a lot of hours. oblivion lost does truly restore the game to what is was intended to be, and makes the game a more enjoyable experience. it's much better than other linear horror fps games. As for Quake 4 I though it was more of an action than a horror. My personal favorite horror games are survival horror rather than action horror specifically Resident Evil and Dino Crisis. What I thought was a disappointment was Dino Crisis 3. I liked it's creatures, I thought the story was decent, and the setting was kinda fun but there were only 3 guns which killed the game for me. For a good Action horror you can't go wrong with F.E.A.R. or Doom 3 and for a good survival Horror RE 4 or RE outbreak file #2 are excellent choices. I'm looking forward to RE 5 comming out it looks good.

And never played S.T.A.L.K.E.R. never really interested me. But F.E.A.R. is awesome, and so is Doom 3. Dino Crisis 3 really did ruin the game a lot.
