jonniezombietronic
I like to use hand to hand fighters in these games but there's almost never any weapons you can use. It feels like you are missing out on a lot of possible enchantment and so on.In Oblivion there was this mod Claws and Monk Gear but it was half finished and it came out quite late in Oblivion'slifespan. Can someone make something similar? Also there is no hand-to-hand skill tree/star sign. Is it possible to add a star sign for this? jonniezombietronic
This is the type of thing I had in mind. Basic spiked gantlets that you can enchant/poison. Can anyone help? http://a2.l3-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/42/8dd65260cd254046a4e1639719034958/l.jpg
jonniezombietronic
Here are some basic ideas of what the hand to hand star sign could look like. http://www.dragoart.com/tuts/pics/4/4617/how-to-draw-a-fist.jpg or http://www.drawing-and-coloring.com/images/drawing-hans-fist.jpg With a star at each knuckle maybe. jonniezombietronic
So here are some idea's for hand to hand skills.(basically copied from one/two handed) Hands of Stone(5 levels) Punches do 20% more damage (+20% per additional rank) Foot movement Power attacks with punches cost 25% less stamina Busted wide open(3 levels) Attacks with Spiked Knuckles cause extra bleeding damage (Additional ranks raise the bleeding damage) Not too sure about this one Precision punching(3 levels) Attacks with punches have a 10% chance of doing critical damage (+5% per additional rank) Flurry (2 levels) Attacks are 20% faster (35% for second rank) Superman Punch Can do a power attack while sprinting that does double critical damage Playing possum Backwards power attack has a 25% chance to paralyze the target This would still leave the hand to hand skill tree/star sign much smaller than one/two handed. If anyone has any ideas that wouldn't unbalance the game please post them. Edited February 12, 2012 by jonniezombietronic
MoonSweets
I'm totally in for the fighting gloves! Actually I found a bandit in the ratway who possessed enchanted gloves giving a +10 bonus to unarmed attacks (quite interesting for Khajiits). It should be possible to forge some gloves with different materials to create different kinds of spikes or plates, or claws. Adding this feature wouldn't be too hard as long as we have the meshes I guess. Or before we get models we can just add a bonus to gauntlets for unarmed attacks. When I look at the Orcish gauntlets I tend to think it must hurt to be punched with. Regarding the perk tree I think it's nice overall. It's true it's got less branches than the one-handed and two-handed but it's also normal since there aren't different types of hands =DI don't know if it would be needed to add something related to more stealthy attacks, I guess it would rather fall under the Sneak tree as making the related perks increase the damages of both daggers and unarmed attacks. What I picture would be the idea of coming behind someone, catching the head and turn it to crush the cervicals. Note that it's even harder to make an unarmed sneak attack as you have to be really against your target, it's even closer range than daggers. Another idea to add branches could be combat styles. Like you could have a branch that's more about an offensive style to deal more damages, or another that's more defensive and makes you harder to hit. But maybe this would be better in an Unarmored tree.

MoonSweets
Currently working on this myself tho i am already aware of : Unarmed Warfare .9 made by Father.of.elevenMabey that's something ya like. Do you have a link? =) Also I think it would be great that each tells about their skills so if we all want to work on a same mod it's better to organize the work to avoid doing all the same thing...Personally I'm in the game industry. Basically I'm a creative with enough technical knowledge and practice to avoid thinking undoable things and helping find technical solutions and optimizing.I have experience in game design, CG art (3D modeling too but that's not the most necessary skill here) I have basic knowledge of the CK for level building and such but I'm not a programmer. I can understand the logic of a code, theorically, but that's all. It would be useful too to find in the CK where are the skills, how they fit together in the sky, how they are placed. I tend to think the hand to hand skills would also fit between the Thief and the Warrior, near the Archery skill =)

jonniezombietronic
The unarmed warfare mod seems at this point to be a half finished stopgap. It's cool it's there but it seems like there is a lot of work left to do. Looks promising to me though. Also it look like you would have to make fists weapons in order set them up for hot-key purposes. Otherwise you would have to either only use punching at all times or go to the menu every-time you used magic and had to change back to punching (annoying and not very immersive) . MoonSweets
It looks interesting but would probably need a little more work. However it can be nice to contact him to make suggestions and know if he changed and existing tree because it is complicated to add a new one....In fact I've sent him a message so maybe we can get a clearer idea. I hope he'll come by to check out the topic^^
