You know absolutley nothing about magic! Magic is the ultimate weapon. It can counter A N Y T H I N G, have you seen those little round things w/ gem's on the top that fit around your finger? Thats called a ring, and w/ Alter magic it can completly reverse their weaknesses ( wich I admit are quite a burden ) and make them immune. As for the ship and island issue I have already show the ease the Altmer would have in destroying a naval blockade ( cmac also pointed out how mages can over whelm strong forces ) [takes deep breath] Nords may be be immune to frost attacks and have a strong navy How do you think their fancy ship would hold against an giant ball of fire w/ a nice drain health 100pt for 5sec after effect, and the FINAL issue you and evreyone has been trying to point out is that the Altmer dont have a large army, well they have some as experienced adventures of MW know there are a few Altmer fighters. They may not be Orcs but as cmac again points out in his first post ( since hes one of the few people agreeing w/ me that why I use his posts ) on this topic Altmer could easly cast protection spells on the warriors while raining hell on the enemys. Further more Altmer being the suppior mages they are can summon armys of Daedra, and Undead to further fight for their cause! THE ALTMER WOULD WIN!!!

The altmer would not win. They could never become imune to all elements. It is impossible. No ring can hold a stong enough enchantment. Also they would easitly destroy a portion of an army then would be easilt descimated after. To be able to cast good spells it costs alot of magica that the altmer do not have (only thoes born under the atronoch have enought). The spells would require onwards of 150 which would only be able to destroy one person by doing 100 for 3 seconds on target. Even with a spell like that i need over 100 wisdom and 100 destruction or will start to fail. The only person who has or can have 100 in any atribute is you or a master trainer. No normal person who would be in the war would be strong enough to cast truely powerful magic. The altmer relying on magic would quickly run out. The dunmer would ony be able to do probably at most 100 damage to a single person befors running out of magica. Once out they would be quickly dispatched. Also the daedra that are summoned would not last very long and would use alot of magica to cast. Also you need to have 100 conjoration to even summon some creatures for more than a minuite. For one minuite summonings are not very helpfull. Alot of good spells take onwards of 50 which would quickly drain the altmer of all magic. If they use any fortifying spells or any thing like that they would be in big trouble once they wore off and afterward would be destoyed. Some people mentioned using water walking to g and attack but thet would cause their downfall if they used it. First they would waste alot of magica using it to go out to attack off their island. Secon once it wore off they would have nothing and would be forced to swim. The altmer are frail and weak. They have way too many weaknesses. Their are many weapon in the game that are enchanted with fire, ice and, electric damage and these weapon would be their death. They are isolated and would be easilt conquered. Touch spells would be their best bet (since they cost less and are easier to make a hit with) but they would only get one hit before they died.

 

The dunmer are an all aroung good race. The dunmer have the power of magic along with that of combat. The dunmer could do all that the altmer could and do better when it came tot the close combat.

The that they would have would only be very weal. Not many enchantable items are good. Also scrolls are not that powerfull, actual magic spells that i can cast have more than 3 times the power. The scrolls have lomited use and would quickly run out. Also almost all scrolls are touch effects and do not do any actual damage but insted give weaknesses and the scrolls that do do damage only do about 10 to 20. Magic is good if you know haw to use it. You do not want to reky yourslef on magic since it easily runs out when you use hight level spells that are trely worth casting.

Ok ppl, it;s not my task but i'dd say this topic is nearing it's end becouse all has been said I gues, and those who want to say something has probably been said somewhere in here. So I don't see the point of this topic anymore aside of the fact that you can get extra posts here.

 

(Well, the same problem with the entire forum actually, all has been said already, no more questions to ask, this forum is dieing if you ask me)

 

What to do with this is up to the mods but have fun discussing anyway.

Everywhere. just sell the scrolls, only the summoning ones are usefull (most of the time). In order for a scroll to be worth damage, you'd have to have the altmer enchant them on their own. This would cost just as much money as a CE effect. They would only be good for A SINGLE SHOT. If it misses, theyd have to repeat the process. And after the dust cleared they would be dead first.

 

If you want to talk about spellcasters, The bretons would be beter edged than the altmer. They are more well rounded, have an edge in magika as well, and also have some RESISTANCE to it. They, too, WOULD LOOSE. only a numerous, battle tactical, lucky force would win. And, if I could place a bet, I would place it on the Dunmer. The imperials have numbers too, and tactics, but they are stuck with the x-factors of their location and the wide-spread nature of thier legionaires.

None of the people in the game have strong enougth spells to wreak havok on an army let alone a city. The only spells that people have in the game are crap. The srongest spells in the game that are not player made do at most about about 30-40 in a hit except for the spells of the gods. The gods have the power and normal people do not. One more thing how are the almer supposed to get to a city to attack it. First they would have to go through the borders which are guarded. If you say that they would just go invisible the only good spell that i baugth uses 90 magica and was not very good. Also there are many people with magical arrows and could easily take them down.

 

I am glad to see that there are people who agree with me on this topic.
