[LE] Black dds landscape textures generated by oscape with 64 bit creation kit

Recommended Posts

As the titles says. oscape generates the normals and meshes fine, it is just the colour textures that are black.
In the older tutorials it mentions that if you use the default ground texture that you do not need to duplicate your texture sets.
the 64 bit craton kit no longer has a default ground texture and seems to use dirt 2.
but even after I duplicated my texture set i am still getting black dds textures. I am at a lost.

Yes definitely some thing funky with the new creation kit and oscape.
I went ahead and followed the lod generation tutorial but with oscape pointing at the 32bit skyrim folders. After generation I loaded the 32 bit creation kit but no lod at all. All of my tga files were extracted from the special editions bsa files. so perhaps this was the reason.
No meshes No normals no textures.
On a hunch i decided to copy all of the data over the the skyrim special edition.
Boom full landscape lods.
Using that same esm just to be sure. I backed up the previously generated lod data. I then used oscape again but pointing at the special edition skyrim folder. Nothing but black dds.
I then deleted all of the lod data I just generated and re-installed the backup lod data.
Full lods again.
Now this is just with the landscape lod i do not know how the object lods are behaving I just wanted basic landscape lod for building my world space. After 3 evenings trying to sort this out and nearly giving up on modding i can get back to it. I guess for the time being when i need to generate lods as i add to my world space i will have to use the 32bit skyrim folder.
