NEEDED: One experienced programmer

I have a request for those of you with experience in scripting code, particularly in relation to the CS/GECK software. Project "Atvir Dres" requires the services of a talented programmer to turn assist in the development of expanded companion functionality.

The ideal candidate will:

-Have performed similar work using CS or GECK software

-Have a passion for the work and an interest in learning to use Papyrus

-Experience with Python and/or Ruby is a plus

-Having earned or being in the process of earning a degree in computer science, or a related field, is a plus

Though intellectual property rights for the mod in its entirety will remain mine (insofar as they are anyone's but Bethesda's, that is), you will be fully and clearly credited for your work. It should also be noted that this mod is strictly intended for the Nexus and other third-party sites, and will never be uploaded to Steam or in any way used for profit.

Some of the early companionship features we would like to implement include:

-Dialogue-driven default AI modification, allowing the player to assign homes and "hangouts" to companions

-A "Summon Atvir" script effect that can be incorporated into a spell or shout

-A companion-specific "real needs" system (hunger, thirst, and sleep)

-And more planned for later releases...

For more information on the project, follow the link at the bottom of my signature. If you feel you are suited to this position and would like to join our team, just send me a PM and I'll provide further details.

See you in the game, fetchers!

I recommend adding experience with Python and/or Ruby to that. The video showed a part of the wikipages indicating that it's similar to those 2 languages.

I ain't skilled at them, but I wish you good luck making the new standard for companion scripting, as it seems scripts can be saved as separate files and can thus be mods themselves ;).

Thanks for the tip! I'll add those to the list.

And I agree that some improved, but standardized companion mechanics would be a very good thing indeed. :)
