ALTERIAVALTERON
I was one of the unlucky people struck by their Sandisk SSD suddenly going kaput without any warning - it was a 480GB Ultra II model under 18 months old! :( I managed to re-use my old SSD which is OK,but had to re-install Fallout 4 on my HDD. I had manually backed up my my data folder(which included the installed mods) and saves to another drive a few weeks ago but foolishly did not back up the physical mods themselves or the other files - now I can manually copy over the files into the new Fallout 4 folder and they will come up in the load order part, but it won't come up in the mods part - is there away to import that information into the mod manager, without having to re-download the mods again?? I don't have a very fast connection and it would take yonks to do so(I have downloaded quite a few mods over the last six months or so).
L3s7ing
I think there is no other way as to redownload everything. The important part to backup would've been the nmm folder, which also contains all downloaded mods and the stored installation info (\Nexus Mod Manager\Fallout4\Mods and \Nexus Mod Manager\Fallout4\Install Info should be the important ones, which you could reintegrate into nmm after a new installation).Your data folder only holds the installed and unpacked files and if I'm correct can't be used to restore nmm information or reinstall mods.Never tested it before, but I think that should be the only way. FMod
I had manually backed up my my data folder(which included the installed mods) and saves to another drive a few weeks ago but foolishly did not back up the physical mods themselves or the other files - now I can manually copy over the files into the new Fallout 4 folder and they will come up in the load order part, but it won't come up in the mods part - is there away to import that information into the mod manager, without having to re-download the mods again??Your data folder and saves is all you need to play your mods as installed. Beware - your saves may get screwed up if you don't reinstall mods with the exact same load order. If you're done with modding the game, "if it works, don't touch it" may be a good approach to take. To keep tinkering, you'll need to redownload all your mods with NMM.Maintain your backup in case things break down.
ALTERIAVALTERON
Thanks for the advice given - it took me a few days but I managed to download all the mods again. Two have been deleted from the Nexus so I had to manually copy those over just to make sure the save file works!!
