ShadowsofYesterday
So being level 80-something on my latest character, I was getting quite irritated by the fact that I was still doing the same damage I had been doing 40 levels earlier. There's no reason why it should still take two point blank double-barrel headshots to take down a Raider Veteran (especially since my double-barrel is modded to not be useless). So the idea I had was to have weapon damage scale infinitely with player level. I intended to accomplish this through the various weapon perks (Big Leagues, Commando, Demolitions Expert, Gunslinger, Heavy Gunner, and Rifleman) by, rather than adding a flat 20% damage increase per rank, adding a small percentage per player level (0.4% per rank, 2% per level at max rank). This would result in the player doing double damage like normal at level 50 (around the time you get your last rank of these perks), but then doing triple damage at level 100, quadruple damage at 150, quintuple damage at 200, etc. The trouble I ran into is that there is no actor value for player level, meaning there's no actor value that can act as a modifier for weapon damage. An AV could be made for it, but then scripting would be necessary to set that AV on each save game load and level up. Sadly, scripting falls far, far outside of my very limited skill set. Any modders out there willing to tackle this idea? EDIT: There are other mods that INCLUDE a mechanic similar to this, but I've yet to come across any standalone version of what I'm thinking of.
