Modding Help?

Hello Nexus. I'm sorry if this is the incorrect place for a question like this, but I'm new to modding and especially nexus. I have a problem with the CK that I can't find on google. I've made an Assaultron retexture, and I can't seem to get the creation kit to recognize it. It shows perfectly fine in Nifskope, and I triple checked my file pathways and they're all correct. The creation kit displays the DEFAULT assaultron skin whenever I replace the defaults on my duplicated assaultron, even though the mesh has the alt textures equipped. Is there some way I have to change the other assaultron files ( the n, f, and s) and not just the assaultron-torso-d? Everything is in the properly named files in my data file for fallout 4. Thanks for the help.

Your mesh might need a materials file as well as the texture. Many objects in Fallout 4 do.

The materials basically collect the various textures into one place, then apply them to the mesh.

A lot of objects require both the textures and the materials to be linked to the mesh.
