Fast Travel to College of Winterhold in midair

I recently started having problems with my installation of Skyrim SE. Floor textures would be missing. I removed all my mods, and uninstalled, then reinstalled Skyrim SE. This fixed the floor textures but now when I am on my horse (Frost) and I fast travel to the College of Winterhold. I appear mid-air, and subsequently fall to my death. This only happens if I am on my horse.

I currently don't have any mods installed but the ones I was using before are:

  1. A Quality World Map - 9.0.1 A Quality World Map - Vivid with Stone Roads
  2. Achievements Mods Enabler - AchievementsModsEnabler
  3. Better Dialogue Controls - Better Dialogue Controls v1_2
  4. Book Covers Skyrim - Book Covers Skyrim SE - Desaturated
  5. Detailed_Rugs_v1-3-29608-1-3
  6. Real Roads for Skyrim (BSA)-55518-1-01
  7. Realistic Water Two - Realistic Water Two v1_25
  8. SkyFalls + SkyMills
  9. Skyrim Flora Overhaul SE - Skyrim Flora Overhaul SE v2.72a
  10. Static Mesh Improvement Mod - SMIM - SMIM 2-04
  11. True Eyes SE 2.0
  12. Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch - Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch

Has anyone seen this before, and how do I fix it?

Are you using LOOT to Sort your mods? And is this the order for which the plugins are being loaded in? Because it should be the

Skyrim.ESM

Update.ESM

Dawnguard.ESM

Hearthfires.ESM

Dragonborn.ESM

Unofficial Skyrim special Edition patch.

And then any other mods after the Unofficial patch.

I am not using LOOT but nexus mod manager shows the load order and it is the same as what you have listed.

I'd suggest downloading Loot good for checking load orders and other things which may give u some grief. It especially helps if you run it before starting a run through which find file that need cleaning or certain mods aren't working because you need to activate them. I had trouble with three patches I installed and when I ran loot it told me that for some reason my Skyrim.esm, Update and DG, HF & DB esm were not active. So I just reactivated them. One down and a couple more to go. Great little tool to have around.

I couldn't agree more Loot and SSEEDIT are two great tools for modding. I using them both. Also when you run loot it will not only sort your mods but tell you if you've got any for which need to be cleaned. I'll have to admit that so far I've not had to clean any of the Mods I've got installed. And right now I'm running through a game testing and slowly adding mods. I"m at 130 mods installed with 90 plug ins and I'm stable. Have yet to crash the game. <Keeping Fingers crossed>

I ran LOOT and SSEEDIT on my esm files. Neither fixed my issue but they are great tools none the less.

Once all my mods were disabled I kept trying older save games and one of them allowed me to fast travel on my horse successfully. As it turns out the bug is with the dog, Barbas. In one of the affected save games I told Barbas to stop following me... when I fast traveled no glitch.

So I guess until I finish that quest line I'll just avoid fast traveling.

Update:

Confirmed. Once I got rid of Barbas the bug disappeared.
