Drop-able Gold Coins (or bags)

Ok i have an treasure chest without the lid. I filled the first one with different gems i've collected and would like to do the same with gold in another lid-less chest. Unfortunately i cannot find a mod that allows me to drop single gold coins. The game will allow you to store them in a container, but not drop them outside of a container.

Can someone help point me in the right direction?

As a last resort, i could use a console command to create an external coin to drop, but i would rather do it with the ones i've collected. It makes you feel better when you see a chest full of gold and you can say "I built that fortune" and not "i created that fortune with a console command."

 

 

If this isn't created yet, then i'll try to fiddle with scripting and the CK next week, it would be good experience, but i'm also very new at that.

You can use the console to drop coins.

 

player.drop f 1

 

This will drop a gold coin in front of your character. You must drop them one at a time or use a bat file for dropping many for convenience.

Do be careful though, dropping hundreds of coins in a single small area may cause quite a bit of a frame rate hit in the house depending on your hardware specs.

Thanks Sunnie - I can write up a simple bat file to do that at like 20 a time. I just built this system last month and it packs a great punch. If i do experience a nasty frame drop, i know enough about moding to be able to add a false bottom in.

Anyway. I miss the ability to drop coins like that, in the past, I would add a vault room to my favorite house, then drop the clink there to cover the floor. Was awesome. I don't know any such mods, but if you find one, please do update this thread with your discovery.

Actually it was quite simple

Open note pad and type in:

 

player.drop f 1

player.drop f 1

player.drop f 1

player.drop f 1

player.drop f 1

 

Then save it as gold.txt

Put that txt file in the skyrim folder - the same spot as TESV.exe and SkyrimLauncher.exe is at. This does NOT go in the Data folder.

Then, while in the game, bring up your console (normally the ~ button) and type:

 

bat gold

 

now 5 gold coins drop on the floor (or where ever you want them to drop) Besheba still has that annoying bug though that when you drop something and place it, then leave the room, when you come back it is where you originally dropped it, I don't doubt that someone will fix that bug soon with the CK coming out.

 

Best way i've found to avoid it is to drop everything i want to place, leave the room, quick-save / load, and then reenter the room. Then i can place the things without them resetting when i leave.

in morrowind I would fill my house with coin stacks <3 it was so much easier to store items with the dropping system in morrowind </3

Thanks for the idea and solution. When it comes to placing objects in your house and making them stay in the place you put them, I find that it helps to hang around the place for five minutes or so, and maybe even sleeping a few hours, before saving and leaving.
