CTDs Near the Windhelm Imperial Camp

Exactly what it says on the tin, My game crashes every time I get near to the imperial camp in the province of Windhelm. This is what feels like my hundredth restart due to mod frustration, so it'd be wonderful if I could get this resolved without having to abandon this saved game file. its a little rediculously long, but I hope you can still help. I have used loot to organize it all, but I dont feel confident enough in TSEdit to clean the files up. thanks a ton for any help you can provide.

Cleaning up the files won't help you with crashing. Use WryeBash and make sure everything is green. Anything that's red means a master file is missing. Orange means a master file was re-ordered and you need to use TES5Edit to sort them. Use WryeBash to make a Bashed patch as well. It cleans up your load order.

In case a mod file (esp) has partly deleted the vanilla navmesh in that territory you'll get constantly CTDs.
To find out whether the navmesh is the culprit, you have to use tes5Edit with each of your loaded esm/esp files.

Another mistake could be bad scripts for whatever reason. Make sure your debug logging is on.
Now load a savegame, wait 30 sec do nothing, and then open the console
put in: DPU
put in: DPS

command "dpu" is useful to discover old OnUpdate(), OnUpdateGameTime() events.
command "dps" is useful to find broken script stacks.

 

You'll find the output in folder My Games \ Skyrim \ Logs \ Script \ Papyrus.0.log
