calyps Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Okay, I downloaded an armor and like many it is not designed for the body mod I am using. To fix this, I copied the original skin textures to another location in the textures directory. Then I went in with nifskope and selected the body, went into nitrishap>bslightingshaderproperty>bsshadertextureset and changed the location of the textures to the place where I stored the default skin textures. It still grabs them from char..\female. What the hey? If someone can help I'd appreciate it.
Snowman131 Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 You'll have to change the armature models in Skyedit as well for one thing.
calyps Posted February 3, 2012 Author Posted February 3, 2012 You'll have to change the armature models in Skyedit as well for one thing. Could you elaborate on that a little? Is "armature model" what it will be called in SkyEdit?
Snowman131 Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Aha sorry, in Skyedit, one of the categories above "armor" is "armature", load up JUST your file and you'll see that there are some items in that category.
calyps Posted February 3, 2012 Author Posted February 3, 2012 Uhm...how do you open a nif in skyedit? Or do I have to create an esp to make this work?
Snowman131 Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 OH. Yes, you're going to have to make it standalone, and therefore make an esp and add your stuff to it. >.<
calyps Posted February 3, 2012 Author Posted February 3, 2012 Ah...so it's definitely more complicated than altering the path, like for the rest of the armor. So I have to make an esp for the armor I'm replacing, and change the armature model, which I guess the armature is the body? So...I guess I'm changing the armature model to the armor model so it listens to the path I've set?
Snowman131 Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 You're going to have to make a new item for each piece in not only the armature category, but the armor category, and the recipes if you want them craftable.
calyps Posted February 3, 2012 Author Posted February 3, 2012 I will give that a shot and be back if I fail. Edit- to clarify, I have to do all this just so this armor will reference a different skin texture than the default?
calyps Posted February 4, 2012 Author Posted February 4, 2012 ...and Skyedit crashes everytime I try to edit an ARMA entry. :P
