LEGION113
I recently came into some models from Army of Two 40th day that I would like to use in a personal mod. The models were are already converted to .smd and the textures to .vtf, but as you know they need to be in .nif and .dds files to work in-game. The problem is that I have no idea how to do this, and no idea were to begin. Could someone explain to me how to do this, please? I'm a little computer savy so I could do it, but I need something to guide me through what to do first. Many, many thanks to anyone who can tell me how to do this! ShadowDragyn
For the texture, you could try looking up a plugin for either Gimp or Photoshop (whichever you use) that allows it to open.vtf files, then just re-save it as .dds.For the mesh, basically do the same thing and find a plugin for Blender to open .smd files. LEGION113
Okay, I had trouple finding a VTF editing plugin for the GIMP, but I found a stand-alone one called VTFedit, and I tried what you said, but when saving, it only has the "save as VTF" option and no others. Any help?
LEGION113
ALright, so, ignore the upper post please, got all that to work, but now I hit a speed bump converting the .sdm files to .nif. Any ideas?
Quetzlsacatanango
Irfanview can batch convert vtf to bmp or whatever, then you can use gimp/photoshop to convert from bmp to dds. To convert smd to nif, you need an smd import script for blender or whatever 3d app you use. Then do all your rerigging, etc. and export as nif.
