kyu1x
ok so i installed shivering isles with no problem, and my computer runs on vista with 2 admin files, one being mine and the other being my parents. so when it finished installing my problem started, i started up oblivion and waited 24 hours for the quest to start and nothing happnened. so i moved around and nothing. so later on the day, my dad was logged on and i happened to just play oblivion on his account. i playd on his file for around 10 mins and i waited 24 hours saying, "hey maybe it'll work here." it did. the quest came up "The Strange Door In Niban Bay," the island popped up and everything. both accounts have the same mods installed, both are identical besides character saves. anyone know if vista has a problem with running si on 2 files? we both run as admins. any help would be greatly appreciated. The methods used for the initial triggering have never really worked, even before vista. I think it's related to the usage of Gameday, which when set at the end of the month, will prevent anything based on an increase to gameday from working (since there are no 32 day months), or will delay any sort of trigger until you come to a month with more days. In cases where the script is just looking for a change in days, this is less of an issue, but in situations where it is specifically looking for 2+ days later, this is a common mistake, even among modders. Tamujiin
Also my good man you need to be like lvl 7 to get the quest anyway. I use a Vista Computer and have never had any problems of this sort. If your character is less then lvl 7-10 do a regular save and not an auto or quick save then use the player console key " ~ " ( next to one below escape ) and type player.setlevel 10 and then try waiting a day. Do that on your game and it should work otherwise it does have something to do with the above reason. And then promptly erase the saved game and forget the console cheat because cheatin in oblivion ruins the game completly. Just my advice dudeman. So low infact that some of the item rewards for the first few quests were totally useless before long. I don't think there's a level requirement so much as a suggestion. SI is just like the rest of Oblivion, leveled lists everywhere, levels 1 to 20ish only.
