gentester
Can someone help me please?I have used this pic from the racemenu screen as its the clearest I have which shows the problem.http://tinypic.com/r/2ztc2yx/5 Which is such heavy shadowing that in game it looks like her head is floating above a sea of black. It only happens outdoors. In interior shots or when she is under some cover she looks fine, its whatever the sun does to the lighting that causes the problem. In that pic she is in an open clearing near Riften, there is nothing to cast such a dark shadow except her own head. I have various face and texture mods loaded but it is the same in vanilla now. I installed FXAA injector and a few other mods. When the problem showed up I put my saved games in back up, uninstalled and removed everything, and did a re install from disc putting my game saves back into clean files. It made no difference it so I put the face and texture mods back. Would really appreciate someone's help in tweaking whatever it is that's causing this as I find it really annoying. I'm contemplating taking a game save onto a free-standing hd, uninstalling and re starting the game completely after doing a system restore to a few months back before I added any mods whatsoever, in the hopes that would clear whatever is causing it but seems a bit drastic and no guarantee it would work. Has anyone got any ideas please?
MShoap13
Looks like default shadows to me. The blur deferred shadows mask and shadow mask quarter settings found in SkyrimPrefs.ini blend shadows and can lighten them slightly but that's about it. Rennn
That looks normal to me. Maybe your monitor's settings are the problem, since we don't see the problem? Also, if you use ENB, increase ambientlightingintensityday and decrease directlightingintensityday. That would fix dark shadows with an ENB mod/
gentester
Thanks guys. I tried a few things. Reset my monitor to factory defaults, messed about with the shadows settings in the ini. file and then added a lot to my virtual memory paging file in case that was adding to the problem and whatever I did it has made the heavy shadowing a lot less obvious now. Many thanks for the ideas
