JamesRook
To decrease my mod loading I want to start to merge a few of the smaller esp's, especially weapon and crafting items. I'm wondering if 1) the compatibility patches that come with some mods can be merged into the original mod and 2) can that merged esp be merged into another? For example I have PWR - Passive Water Resources installed and there are patches for Homemaker and SKE. So can those patches be merged into the original PWR esp? If you can do a merge can you then merge that new esp with another esp, say JCW Builder for example? Thanks for any input!
Greslin
It really, really depends on the complication of the patches you're merging. A lot of mods - and patches to mods - are little more than ESPs that make a single game setting change in the original. Those you can combine with no problem in FO4Edit. Don't even waste your time doing a full merge of those, just drag the value over and change the original. Patches that add new records to the original are a little trickier. Most don't usually pose a problem for me (I do this work with the Merge Plugins script in FO4Edit). I'll merge everything and then load the compatibility patches after the merge ESP, then look for conflicts in FO4Edit. If the merge didn't come out exactly as I wanted it, I can easily fix it at that point. All in all, my main advice is to not merge mods blind. Don't just cram them all into the Merge Plugins standalone and hope for the best. Use FO4Edit to check the work and get it perfect.
